1. You should be able to join people without adding
them to your contact list.

2. I think they should up the cell data

3. Ablity to join tourists, but tourist can't join you - with the suggestion
for an id by SW Comit in the topic "roland at activeworlds.com"

4. Ability to render EVERY movement of avatars (for fast computers)

5. Contact Lists: Block Citizens, Unlimited Citizens

6. Sometimes the visibility automatically ups itself to something else (i.e.
52) if i set it to 25. I want to be able to SET and let it STAY there.

Good idea..

> 2. I think they should up the cell data

Most sane people agree..

suggestion

Bad idea.. gives tourists too many features..

> 4. Ability to render EVERY movement of avatars (for fast computers)

Uhh.. I don't like RWX shit so u lost me..

> 5. Contact Lists: Block Citizens, Unlimited Citizens

Another thing we all want..

Umm.. I have mine set to 25 and it hasn't moved from 25 since..

[View Quote] But how will that work?

> 2. I think they should up the cell data

Alphaworld's cell limit will probably be one of the first things I want the CU to address

> 3. Ablity to join tourists, but tourist can't join you - with the suggestion
> for an id by SW Comit in the topic "roland at activeworlds.com"

Bad idea, don't give tourists any more than they already have, though the ID would be nice.

> 4. Ability to render EVERY movement of avatars (for fast computers)

Huh? All movements that have been configured are rendered if you have avatar animations enabled

> 5. Contact Lists: Block Citizens, Unlimited Citizens

Unlimited contact size is a bad thing, too many people will too many contacts would massacre the uniserver. A limit of 200 is just
fine, considering that there are only say 500 active citizens.

> 6. Sometimes the visibility automatically ups itself to something else (i.e.

This is because you're moving backwards. I don't get which angle you're coming from, you want somthing for fast computers and then
you want to address a problem for only obscenely bad ones?

[View Quote] > 1. You should be able to join people without adding them to your contact list.

Yea, and being able to add a contact from the telegram context menu.

> 2. I think they should up the cell data

They who? Get a world and you can up it to 4000 bytes, but it would be nice to have a longer action field (250 characters is too limiting).

> 4. Ability to render EVERY movement of avatars (for fast computers)

SEQs already do this smoothly/fluidly; it's just dependent on frame rate.

> 6. Sometimes the visibility automatically ups itself to something else (i.e. 52) if i set it to 25. I want to be able to SET and let it STAY there.

Set frame rate to 100 and it'll NEVER (or at least VERY rarely, but I've never had it happen to me) go beyond the set visibility. What I don't like is how AW incorrectly reports the visibility distance (25m in options comes out to 22m in status bar; 75m, 72m, etc). Roland needs to learn how to do math correctly--not only does he royally SUCK at floating point (see http://tnlc.com/eep/aw/improve.html) but it looks like he can't even add whole numbers very well either. Pathetic.

1. this really isnt nessecary. its easier to add
them once then type their name in every time
2. this would be cool but would make older
computers lag even more :\
3. cool would make it easier for cits to help them
learn how to build
4. no comment my computer is only 500mhz
5. HELL YEAH!
6. HELL YEAH!

i think that sums up my 2c

: 1. You should be able to join people without adding
: them to your contact list.

Perhaps..

: 2. I think they should up the cell data

And cause even MORE lag? no thanks..

: 3. Ablity to join tourists, but tourist can't join you - with the suggestion
: for an id by SW Comit in the topic "roland at activeworlds.com"

Joining is part of the contact list, tourists don't have CLs, so can't join.. and since they don't have them nor telegrams, and an
ever-changing name.. you can't add them to yours and therefor can't join them..

: 4. Ability to render EVERY movement of avatars (for fast computers)

What do you mean render every movement? I thought it did.. maybe if the avatars had more movement.. not only that but a lot of it is
your eye's perception..

: 5. Contact Lists: Block Citizens, Unlimited Citizens

Block citizens i understand, but an unlimited sized CL would slow the servers immensley

: 6. Sometimes the visibility automatically ups itself to something else (i.e.
: 52) if i set it to 25. I want to be able to SET and let it STAY there.

There are minimum/maximum visibilites.. and did you ever take into consideration you could have accidenteley typed 25 in backwards,
making it 52?

> But how will that work?

If they added a Menu at the top that said "Add Contact", "Join Person", and
all the others, then a textbox opens up, it would be easy..

May I ask why your against it? Raising cell space doesn't mean you *have*
to use it, it just gives you the option to. If your complaint is it lags to
much then just don't go there. If you overdevelop an area an cause lag then
that's your own undoing. If you fear that someone is going to lag you by
making too many objects, that's nothing new, you can already do that other
ways and it hardly takes any skill. If you fear your residents will cause
too much lag in their lots then it's no difference than being a bad
building - anti-lag environment is a skill too.

Well?

My comments below
[View Quote] Yeah, like just type in thier citnum in a box.

> 2. I think they should up the cell data

Boojah :) I've been itching to be able to make more intricate things in AW,
and besides most computers are capable of rendering things in AW and like
comit said just because the cell limit is higher doesn't mean the whole
world will be laggier.

> 3. Ablity to join tourists, but tourist can't join you - with the
suggestion
> for an id by SW Comit in the topic "roland at activeworlds.com"

This would be neat I guess...

> 4. Ability to render EVERY movement of avatars (for fast computers)

Lost me. Explain?

> 5. Contact Lists: Block Citizens, Unlimited Citizens

Unlimited cits WOULD lag the server, but the block list would be welcome
here.

> 6. Sometimes the visibility automatically ups itself to something else
(i.e.
> 52) if i set it to 25. I want to be able to SET and let it STAY there.

I see what you're saying...but I beleive you can do that now.

Wow I'm having problems with outlook lately. Why'd my subject change to
"People against raising cell space"?

You asked me a question and then went over what my responses would be in advance. I have been to places in AW with just a normal
cell size that have lagged to my wits end, however if that is increased, and the new longer visibility the lag could very easily
freeze your entire comp. I feel that a larger cell limit is really unecessary, I can understand maybe a bit higher then "normal"
but anything above that I don't see why you need it. Another thing is that on the new 3.2 there is a optional "cell gird" which can
be displayed on the ground so you can tell where your objects stand in a certain cell, and this will help imensley with positioning
buildings and whatnot so that you conserver your space even more.
Thanks-J B E L L
