Hi,

Unfortunately in some countries the Internet access very expensive still... we can not be
in online for long time, it is very expensive here in our country

So my offer - develop some tools for build of AW world in offline... It may be built in AW
browser or it may be the separate application which allows to send results when I in
online

Thank you

Andrej

Hi, that would be nice to do, but it would cause large amounts of surver
lag.
Just think if everyone did that. As soon as they would come online in here
it would be like a very large propdump or upload to the AW survers.
It would just about kick everyone out till it was finished.

Sorry I do not understand about what delays you speak?

It will not send all objects to the server, just only as I understand main cell.idx and
cell.dat files

It is about 100-300 kilobyte. It might work only for "worlds" owners, they will send these
files on their server!!!

Sincerely
Andrej

you're right, it is not more load than what a build bot produces

Well if it don't cause any surver lagg then why is it when I am in an area
where a few people are propdumping with bots. I get the old waiting for
server warning....
No I am not getting disconnected, its caused by all the data hitting me all
at once.
Its like someone dumping a load of gravel on you without warning and your
trying to dodge it all without getting hit, it is not going to happen LOL

That's what I said, "not more lag than ...".

So if a building bot is acceptable this will be acceptable too,
I am quite sure that it will be a building bot that will do the
update work.

200 new objects a second are bound to lag a client IN THE AREA, but the server wouldn't be impacted.

the only downside i see to this is if two people decide to get online and
have their house they just built uploaded into the same spot at the same
time. could cause some havoc.

You could do that in earlier versions of the browser i remember. What i did
was connecting to the net and started AW and finding a free spot to build
on. Then i just close my internet connection and buildt for hours until i
was satisfied with my build. Then...without closing the browser ( in offline
mode) or move too far away from the buildt, i re-connected to the internet
and waited until the "Waiting for server" message was gone and everythin i'd
made were uploaded to the world. Just as i were building online.
Unfortunaly...this feature or bug..whatever doesn't work in the latest
versions. My guess is that it would be a piece of cake for AWCOM to re-add
this but i'm not sure they even know about it. Anyway..they wouldn't do this
because if everyone did it, AW would be empty!
Oh well...

Isn't doing that a little bit risky? I mean, if an object goes out of
range, it gets deleted. What happens if your computer locks up or blue
screens? Everything is erased. O_O

also what would you do if someone in online mode built something on that spot
while you were offline... it might be kinda neat but whats the point?

Sure it could be a risk doing this.
Same thing as trying to build on someones elses property will happend if you
try to upload your buildings and someone else have already built there in
online mode.
No problem to solve that, just lay grass all over the place you plan to
build on in offline mode. I did that!
If you got a blue screen or a computer lockup while doing this, you're in
trouble...but such trouble don't happend often, right?? :-)

I just learned this whilst in offline mode building screenshots for
somethign I'm working on: if you modify alot of stuff in offline mode
and teleport somewhere in the same location, all your changes go
*POOF* as the scene is reloaded from cache.
