Sound Volume Regulation (Wishlist)
Sound Volume Regulation // Wishlistfelix2001Apr 8, 2001, 5:08am
For all of you people who didn't already know this and wanted to be able to
regulate volume for sounds with commands like bump or activate, here's what you do: name an object - for this test, the name you chose will be 'listen'. Type the sound command as normal on the object you want to make the sound when clicked or bumped (bump sound [url of sound] - or the same but with activate instead of bump), but add name=listen after it. If you chose bump, you should have 'bump sound [url of sound] name=listen'. According to how far away the 'listen' object is, the volume will be louder or softer. If you want to use the same object but you want the sound to be quiter or louder, you could also have a 'move' event included, like "bump move 30 0 0 time=.001 wait=9999999999 name=listen". The long wait and makes sure the object doesn't move back for a very long time and will sound that quiet or loud until further move commands are registered for the object. You may want to make the listen object be unsolid and invisible according to your needs. Using this information, you should be able to take advantage of your sound options even further. Good luck! P.S. Please don't reply saying things like, "How stupid do you think we are?" because I was only trying to help. ;) Sorry to those of you who wasted their time looking at this. |
