I know that the new AW won't have streaming media like MP3's or WAV's, but
why not? I think it would be great if you could choose streaming or not
though in line commands, like "create stream
http://something.something.something"

AW has .wav support, and will have .mp3 support in 3.1, if the mp3 is under
1 meg i think. Streaming media is a cool idea, mobey roland could impliment
a feture for .ram (real audio) or .pl (winamp).

not any mp3.. only one's which are simply compressed wav's.. the coding is
different for some.. and any file can be streamed.. not just ram, however
ram files have the smallest file size, but also the lowest in quality..

An mp3 encoded .wav is just an mp3 file with an extra .wav file header.
There are dozens of codecs you can use within a .wav file. Wav is not a
codec, the most common (and bloated) codec used in .wav files is PCM.

You can't stream all files, only files that can be played when incomplete.
Ram is quite a bad file format actually, but mostly because of the (buggy)
player. The file size doesn't really have anything to do with it, this just
depends on how much you compress it. You can encode mp3's at 32kbps mono and
have crappy sound and a small size.
