AWCI, or the citizens of it, should create a new Alphaworld style
building world- Massive land area, NO TOURISTS (well, they'd be there
but their building would be periodically deleted by a worldserver
command [This needs to be added]), and instead of using the rather
ineffective PKs, the public (citizens) would be allowed to vote on who
gets added to the PS/Eject role, who gets ED, and who should recieve
special object rights [Also, the world server would need to be modified
to accomodate infinite citnums in the rights], what rules are in place,
etc. Open object submission would also be allowed, and a comitee would
review the objects on local path [In a small closed world to keep prying
eyes out] for lag caused, and general appearence and decide whether it
gets added or not. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to get off the ground
as the hardware required to pull it off is quite expensive. I estimate
that in order to have room for future expandability, a Quad P3 966 or
better would be needed with 1-2 gigs of RAM, a pair of 70 gig HDDs
[SCSI], one for ob path, one for world server, a VERY large tape drive
(200 gigs would be adaquete to cover the OS drive and the two server
drives), along with a very VERY fast internet connection. Just for
grins, I think I'll put together a price list for one of these bitches.
Then the world server would be costly (If AWCI would even sell us one
that big). Well, its a good idea anyway, just thought I'd put it on here
