for a given location? That could be really cool....... just an
illusion, not control over the panorama of a world. It could make AW
free for more creativity, and could give world owners a way to put in
multiple themes in their worlds??? Waddaya Think?

Hello, ingiebee

If I understand you correctly, Yep

With the a bot you could change the panorama from a sunrise threw to a
sunset to feel more realistic of a day passing by..

....which would be VERY inefficient considering the size of backdrops.

Which leads to one of the cool advantages of fog-you can go backgroundless

I think that ingiebee means if you go to different parts of the world, say if the world had a "south
pole" it would be a snowy background as opposed to the "equator" or GZ where it would be a sunny
background. This could be accomplished with a bot, but only if one person at a time were using it.

Yes, I know of the Pana changer, or whatever it's called (no offense) I guess what I was trying to say
is to be able to change the background when people arrive at your plot of land in an open building world
or for changing the look of your world if you want to have different levels or something.

What do you mean by inefficient, Eep? You mean it would take up too much of your building
space/allowable?

Thanks, Ingie

I believe he was referring more to memory usage because the Pana is not
a JPG and much bigger file, so more load time. But not sure if that what
saying he might have even more info... I also see it if you enter that world
a lot you only needs to load 1 time then AW cache should store it if setup
your AW cache to store files for future entrees to that world...

Think about it: having to download a, say, 50-100K image every 15 minutes (depending on how realistic you want the day-night light cycle to be) would get annoying. You're better off making a "skybox" ground object and having the world light source affect it normally (since light doesn't affect the backdrop).

Please REPLY (and to the correct thread) to a message instead of starting a new topic, don't change the subject (unless you leave the old one in and out "<new subject> (was <old subject>)"), and leave in quoted text so tracing your message history isn't as annoying.

Sorry cutie, but I don't get a "Twit" for that? LOL (just kidding, I don't think I'd like it if you called me a Twit)

Wow, what do you mean "skybox"? Would that be like a sky dome? Do you know of anyone who's done that? I'd love to hear more... please, thanks so much!! Love Ingie

Yep, skyboxes are like skydomes. They're just an extra cube-ish "object" added to your ground (where you would add a dome with a
skydome). That's how some worlds are able to add animated clouds :)

Next question is there an area to download a free skybox and what world size
is it made for...

Just take your regular ground object, and copy the regular ground "plane". Add a bit to the Y value and then fiddle with that new
plane.

That isn't a skyBOX, but simply 2 planes (ground + cloud). A BOX has 6 sides.
