Wishes for next AW version // Wishlistdennis13Oct 2, 2000, 10:27pm
In the next version of AW they should let us edit more than one object at
the same time cuz it also safes some time sometimes I think if you have to edit several objects like the name, description and action lines. Also, there should be a weather system. We already have fog, but now the next version should have more weather. Rain, lightning, snow, and hail maybe. But also with the rain affects it shouldn't rain on walls or ceilings to be more realistic. wingOct 2, 2000, 11:05pm
This is nearly impossible because of the way AW stores data. It cannot determine
the boundaries of an object by it's position without checking the registry on EVERY SINGLE RAINDROP. Now this is very much possible if all of AW's users are willing to use all their work to a rewrite of the entire AW software, then we can get some stuff done. But thats not gonna happen any time soon. And why add more fluff if we really need to address key concerns up front beforehand such as object manipulation (rotation, etc.), security (DOWN WITH GREEN CHECKMARKS), easier cache clearing. You know, the BASICS. Oh yeah, get the framerate up in high poly areas/models. So we can have remotely decent looking things. The AW doorways (pd##) are only like... 12 polys at most. Anything over 100 causes problems and by 10,000 (mind you 10,000 is the average poly count in most game models) we're dead in the water. I mean most systems crawl to a halt. Yeah, I believe if they are willing to add weather they'd have to rewrite
everything because of the way they have it now and stuff seems like it won't work without going through walls, ceilings and stuff.. That's probably why the fog has to be inside things too lol anduin lotharOct 3, 2000, 12:09am
I don't think so, I say stick with aw 2.2 or make aw 2.2 run more of what aw
3.0 can... If you want upgrades to be done I think it should be on a totally different universe to AW as lots of peoples works have been put to ruins.. So just start a new universe and see what happens to the good ole AW... Regards, Anduin Lothar [View Quote] dennis13Oct 3, 2000, 6:43pm
lol...uhh? I don't have enough money to start a universe, at least at this
time. I am trying to make money from get paid to surf programs and all the others and if I can make a couple a thousand a month from it. I'll be willing to buy myself a universe. Also the money will be used for computer upgrading. :) It's http://pay-sites.homepage.com Also, I'm wondering why Microsoft doesn't have Frontpage Express in Windows or Windows Update anymore because it was a useful tool. lol I can still make pages with something else that'll do but I liked Frontpage Express a lot. I mean that AW should make a new universe directly for the newer versions of
AW which use 3d hardware acceleration. Anduin [View Quote] |
