Heres and idea for the sdk
why not have ti so we can make a directory on our object servers that we
cna put avatars in that ONLY bots cna access so that way if were
developing a game like maybe an RPG players wont be able to use monster
avatars and so on...

For the time being you will have to use the special avatars for this purpose
(make sure your bot's owner is on the PS list first!).

I have plans to significantly revamp the entire avatar handling mechanism
(including adding such things as custom avatars.) Hopefully this is
something I will be able to get to in the next version after 2.1.
Presumably, the custom avatar feature alone, if done properly, would allow
you to create custom avatars for your bots that no one else could use.

Bah...that's what you said before 2.0 beta. I'll believe it when I see it...

This feature alone (plus a $20 tool for making simple avatars, or a yearly
fee for registering them) would bring in lots of new revenue into COF. I
realize that you're "just the engineer" (so to speak), but I hope everyone
at COF realizes how many people are waiting with bated breath for that
feature.

I used to be involved with the MUD/MUSH text-based worlds that were popular
5-10 years ago and the one thing that came up over and over is that there
are a relatively small number of people who want to build rooms, buildings,
places etc. compared to the number of people who just want to tour around
and express themselves. The *key* item in self-expression is appearance,
both in RL and in VR. Hence the need for custom avs and sequences.

Please take all of this as a vote, I hope, for custom avatars and more
avatar control in the SDK (and in the browser) sometime very soon.

Thanks,

Elias Israel

Custom gestures would probably come up aftr the custom avatars, so why not
add the two at the same time? (psst another vote here too *grin*)
