AW_WORLD_RESTRICTED_RADIUS (Sdk)

AW_WORLD_RESTRICTED_RADIUS // Sdk

I would like to know in what units is AW_WORLD_RESTRICTED_RADIUS? Is
it in decametres or metres (cm doesnt seem plausible)?

Also, is it a real radius, or a +/- NS/WE distance from 0n 0w?

Thanks.

Another related question: does the radius-restriction apply to all SDK
bots, or are right-holders exempted. If so, which?

I plan to include an automatic check of bot coords in my progs, to
avoid a very unpleasant situation that arose today: not only my bot
was ejected frow AW, so was I. Simply because of a bug that sent the
bot within the restricted area. This situation can be easily avoided
with this check, I hope.

This automatic check should only take place if the bot in question
does not have the right to be within the restricted zone.

XelaG.

AW_WORLD_RESTRICTED_RADIUS refers to the distance you must be from Ground
Zero in order to build; it is enforced by the world server and doesn't have
anything to do with bots per se. It is in units of meters and isn't a
"true" radius as you say but rather one half the diameter of a square
centered around GZ.

I'm not sure what the "no bots" radius is, that rule was imposed by the
Peacekeepers, not me. You would have to check with them..

HamBots are not allowed to speak within the restricted [building] radius, so
I would imagine the same applies to SDK bots.

How can that be accurately determined though? A bot can be outside the
radius and still "potentially" be heard within the restricted radius.
Please note, this is only a rhetorical question.

That restriction was beeing brought into hambot by hamfon and is
observered only there.. no server checking on that...

so an sdk bot would check this for itself as well

Well, if you see avatars at 0,0 they see you... :) the distanse is approx
200m
so if you keep an 500x500m square clear centering around GZ, you're on a
safe side

I just realized that should I continue on my point
A) I would stray horridly off topic.
B) I would begin to making points that a certain group tend to love.

A) Doesn't worry me too much, but I will refrain.
B) Is a major warning sign of whining.

As such, I'll let my point die. Thank you Walter.

Are you sure of that, Walter? In Atlantis, my Hambots were sent 220 m
up in the sky when near GZ. I supposed that's their idea of muting...
