color command and named objects (Wishlist)
color command and named objects // Wishlist=?iso-8859-1?q?eep=b2?=Jul 25, 1999, 6:04pm
I can't seem to get the color command to change named objects. For example, I have a button object with: "activate animate 1 wood 1 1 0" and a bunch of objects with "create name 1", but if I change the button to "activate color me brown" or some variation, it doesn't work. The color command should be able to work for named objects, just like every other command. Consistency please.

Well, yes I do (the less cell data, the faster things load) but this problem would make changing multiple objects' colors much easier.

That was initially tried (i.e. the "some variation" part), which didn't work either for what I'm trying to do. Read more carefully before you post next time.

the color command has an optional name tag
for your example you would use "activate color brown name=1" is this what you mean? for further reference........ http://www.activeworlds.com/help/color_command.html http://www.activeworlds.com/help/name_command.html [View Quote] =?iso-8859-1?q?eep=b2?=Jul 30, 1999, 9:45pm
Hmm, yes, that's it, but it's inconsistent with the current name commands (like "create animate <name> texture 1 1 0") which don't require "name=<name>". Ah well. Thanks for clarifying.
