Hello.

AW is cool, not for it's technology, but it's people. Cybertown/Colony
City are cool, too, but I prefer AW. When the AmigaNG is released I
would love to see AW ported to it. The Amiga community would work great
in enhancing the best 3D community on the Net.

One of the features that I'd like to see in big worlds, like AW, is
channels. These channels would be available all over the world, and
maybe the universe, and work something like IRC channels. Channels
would have their own tab. This would be very useful, especially in
events like VRML2000.

People stay in GZ to stay in the chat area, but with this they can go
all over the world and still chat with multiple people.

It sounds like you want something similar to radio stations.
With the new SDK, this can be programmed such that a
"bot" standing in one place can relay the chat to another
place. In fact, it could relay it to another world or even another
Universe. In theory, you could stand at the AW GZ and listen
to the chat from the Tikki Bar in OW.

Not like a radio station, but like a CB radio. I think this will help
the AW community by helping communication between people exploring.
Whisper is good, between two people. Look at how IRC totally dwarfs AW.

When I get into AW I would like to join a channel and talk with everybody
else in AW that are on that channel. The AW browser is too big for me to
run it and my IRC program, XiRCOM.

Then again would it be possible to integrate IRC into AW the way Explorer
is?

I can imagine it would be cool to have multi-layer places in the same 3D
"space". The people that you want to see your VR home would get it. Everybody
else would see an alternate location in the same place, like an empty lot. Or
if somebody teleports in rather then using the front door they can have an
entirely different location, but still in the same space.

There is one IRC that includes real audio, a Web page, and more. There was so
much downloading at one time that it was not usable at all with a 14.4 modem.:(

I have a 3D chatroom at www.colonycity.com/home/cyborjim, but I still prefer AW.

By too big, I assume you mean screen real estate...
if so...I would suggest that you need a vPC - Virtual Personal Computer

To build a vPC, we start with a Power Bar from http://www.plemsoft.com
in the AW Browser, we disable the Tabs window...this allows VR+Chat and
IE to easily fit across the screen...then, we add
PhoneJack...http://www.quicknet.net
plus some other Java stuff...plus more to come...

vPC + C+ at + IPv8 + 2,048 TLDs...this network solution is simple...

No, too big as in running any other program, besides small programs like
notepad, dramatically slow down AW. Thanks anyway.
