AGP Graphics (Wishlist)
AGP Graphics // WishlistdudeJan 31, 1999, 12:37am
I don't claim to know much about this paticular subject but is there anyway
to implement the use of the AGP graphics port used in some of the newer puters? A special DLL like MMX uses? I'm pretty sure it can't be done now but are there any plans to add this to the arsenal for better FPS ? =?iso-8859-1?q?eep=b2?=Jan 31, 1999, 1:17am
The AGP (accelerated graphics port) video card and motherboard's AGP slot already take advantage of the AGP bus without explicit software support, I believe. AGP will increase the frame rate over a PCI-based video card, but I don't believe it's a significant increase, especially when using the RenderWare software rendering drivers.

No - it did not. NT4 does not support it while Windows2000 does (which means video driver). > AGP will increase the frame rate over a PCI-based video card, but I don't believe it's a significant increase, especially when using the RenderWare software rendering drivers. > It will increase a lot because the video data will reside within the CPU main memory and not on a relatively slow bus. > [View Quote] =?iso-8859-1?q?eep=b2?=Jan 31, 1999, 5:58am

Well of COURSE the VIDEO DRIVER has to support the hardware, silly; but no EXPLICIT support in PROGRAMS is necessary.

Yes - I did. I had about %50 increase - but I did change back to my PCI card to experiment more.
