I wish they would fix the eject, so that when someone is ejected for
an hour, or even a week, they dont return in 3 minutes!
this would go a long ways towards handling some of the problems on
the GZ's.

m0e, eject bans (temporarily of course) the IP, not the person... and
even if it DID ban (temporarily) the person, they could still come back
as a tourist with a different IP... I think that's right at least :)

Who are you ejecting for an hour or a week??? Seems a bit severe to me.

And, as Dth states in his following post, the ejection feature is based
upon IP address and not name. Wooooohoooo....glad I've got a dynamic
IP! :)

That was the way I understood it too. I wonder if it would be possible,
with a modification, for AW to determine the user's ISP and their login on
that ISP, or something of that nature.

I think it is not difficult to assign a second number (i.e. a serial number)
to eatch installed browser....Then it is very easy to eject persons....not
IPs...
But as Rolland told me in the past about this , COF have more serious
problems to solve...( hmmmm.....perhaps COF doesn't care to mutch about
peace in virtual community of AW)

this is also my thought, a second # enbebbed in the software, that is created
when the log on to the worlds the first time, and hard to get to/change, without
trashing the program. had we something like this when COF too over and saved the
worlds, I dont think the 'banning' issue would have ever come into being.
as for "COF have more serious problems to solve". this does seem to be the
party line, when asked to do something that should have been fixed ages ago.

Perhaps when a new installation logs onto the uniserver, a number could be
randomly generated, attached to the end of the user's current IP adderss (at
the time the number is generated) and stored redundantly in a few places,
such as the cache, the system registry (which as far as I know is not
presently used to store any AW information, and I personally like it that
way), and the aworld.ini file. Then is one of these is missing when AW
starts, it would be restored from one of the others, and if the one in the
registry does not match the others, they could all be checked to see if they
had been ejected. Just a thought... probably not practical.
