Online User List (Wishlist)
Online User List // Wishlistjedi knightJun 9, 1998, 2:35am
I think the AW browser needs an online user list right under each
world. It already shows the number of users in the AW universe, but doesn't show WHO is in a world. In fact, without the contact list I don't know who is in the world unless they chat. Most text chat sites have this feature. It would be nice if AW had it too. technozeusJun 9, 1998, 5:05am
Perhaps the availability of such a list could be selectable at the world
level or something like that... just a thought. TechnoZeus [View Quote] your full nameJun 9, 1998, 10:38pm
would be okay, but, only if it was conected to a "privacy" thing, i dont
want peopel knowing that im in a world, it is very intrusive on privacy . .. FAc. [View Quote] > I think the AW browser needs an online user list right under each > world. Perhaps even better than that would be the equivinant of a Welcome mat and
an Open sign, or something like ICQ's "available for chat" mode, so it would list only people who have set the lowest level of privacy (at that time) as far as weather or not it's okay to show what world they are in. The "normal" level would show what world you are in, where you are listed on someone's contact list, but not show in the list of "available" users in a world, and of course, there would still be the obtion to not allow AW to tell anyone for you... and, just a thought, maybe one more level just below that one, which would allow only people on your contact list to see what world you are in. TechnoZeus P.S. I think that "Your full Name" may look a bit confusing to some people when they see it in a quote. You may want to consider changing your settings. That would render the privacy of the contact list (showing which world
you are on or not) a joke. I always have all privacy features wide open, even join! I think like you, these were very important features we needed forever. What happens? We finally have a way to locate people and see if they are in AW and for some reason most users seem to disable these features. None the less, I do believe in privacy. So if the list you suggest was done it would be a little disappointing, because most of the people on the list would have to be listed as "Unidentified" to protect their privacy they had selected. :) zer0 [View Quote] |
