Bot to Protect Private Avs (Bots)

Bot to Protect Private Avs // Bots

I'm not sure if I am crazy or just forgetful, or both, but I swear I saw
a bot in the past that protected private avatars, you would tell it what
avatars are private, give a list of citizen names that are allowed to
use them, and if someone else tries to use them they will either get
their avatar changed back to another, or warned then ejected?

I would use the 'Special' ones but I don't know how to put seqs on them??

Any help apprecated.

Hi Steve,
I don't know about the bot you are seeking but last time I checked, Special
avatars could have only one seq assigned to them :-/

Someone posted a long time ago how to add the special avatars to the
Avatars.dat file like you would a normal avatar, giving them a lot more
sequences to choose from. Forgot how it was done, but maybe someone else
out there can remember.

Actually it's four special seqs per special av ... AW's info here

Nope, that is outdated - though it still works, too.

You now add a special avatar like any normal one, only you do not use
the keyword "avatar", but "special" (the end is in both cases
"endavatar").
The only restrictions remaining are that there cannot be more than 5
special avatars and they have automatically assigned the AIDs 251-255.

Interesting, I would have to try that. Also remove the * from PS in my
world too. haha.

I ALSO SEEK FOR THAT BOT

I don't have special in my av list, I do however have five special avs as
shown on that webpage and all five show only to those that are PS (public
speaker, bold). I don't see that what you say is the case since I've not
specifically included special avs in my list but since I do have them in avs
folder they are showing up. And yes, I do agree they are 251 - 255 (for bot
purposes I understood), this I've seen when using my bot but the #'g isn't
something we do but aw recognizes for *special avs* right. Other av #'g
starts at 0 and 1 for tourists. So I gather you can have 0 - 250 *normal
avs* then 251 - 255 bot or special avs.

Can you explain or put up some example text of how one puts specials on the
av list?

Do you agree that there are still four seqs allowed for these special avs?
If so, what would be a sample av dat with four seqs included? If more than
four seqs allowed how would one put those on av dat?

Thanks,

LNH

Where did you get this info? Now you got me curious LOL. Someone apparently
needs to update their webpages :o/ Can we put the special avs anywhere in
the list except the very first two spots 0 and 1 (which are tourists) ... or
do these specials have to be the last five on the list? Curious ... since I
cannot find anything to confirm what you are saying. Not saying yer fibbing,
I'm sure yer not ... just wondering why AW hasn't put this info up
*somewhere* :o/

From what I understood when someone explained it a while back is that
the special avatars will always be displayed at the very end of the
avatars list, but by setting up sections for them in the Avatars.dat
file, you can give them a lot more sequences to choose from. I am not
sure the exact format to get the Avatars.dat file to recognize that it
is a special avatar, but maybe someone else can fill us in on that.
Unless it is just geometry=special1.rwx and the rest is the same as
any other avatar.

Well pretty sure specials are still limited to only four seqs tho?

Like I said, they are in all regards like regular avatars EXCEPT they do
not start with "avatar" keyword, but with "special" instead. :-)

I have no idea where you can add them, I add them myself for the sake of
clarity always at the end of the avatars.dat file.

Like kf stated - it works like charm. I added to the end of the file too and here is the example for special1 avatar:

special
name=special1
geometry=special1.rwx
beginimp
walk=swalk
wait=gray02
endwait=gray07
endwave=gray06
endimp
beginexp
turn=qturn
wave=swave
angry=buangry
happy=buhappy
look=bulook
maca=maca1
point=bupoint
shove=bupunch
endexp
endavatar
