Are there any bot people in aw willing to do an organised planned project
that will actualy get finished? Are there any bot people in aw willing to do more than say they will help then vanish for months? Are there any bot people in aw willing to work on a project that isn't a uninspired "RPG" or cookie-cutter "paintball" game? andrasNov 6, 2003, 8:21am

I've been trying to put together AW's first building focused rpg. I've run
this style of game before to much success, but always with small groups since I have to run everything by hand. I have generaly made all the rules as such that they could easily be implemented via a bot. Mainly i just need a bot to handle the economic side of things, and character data. I plan to start out a sort of beta test of this latest version of the game without a bot, and just go from there. Everyone who's played these games always tells me I need to get the game bot-ized so it can be played when I'm not there to run everything manualy, and so more people could enjoy it. I've got the objects, the years of testing, just need a ruddy bot. bowen ten.sardna@newobNov 6, 2003, 6:59pm

I'm willing to help, but I will not make the whole bot. Making a whole
bot of this scale is tedious and AW just doesn't deserve that much of my time anymore. So if you find someone who's willing to make the large scale bot, I'll help them -- lord fett is a good candidate for this since he and I both use the same language. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com Give me ideas. strike rapierNov 6, 2003, 7:57pm
Ud be a lot better waiting for the 4.0 plugin server... I've tried this sort
of thing before and the data handling is so big you need lightning quick speed... Even running a world server and bot on the same computer... the speed is still lacking.. - Mark [View Quote] baroNov 6, 2003, 8:03pm
As the game is turn based, speed isn't that important. It's all a game
initialy set up for a human to be able to run and manage, run more like a pen and paper rpg and less like a dos prompt. [View Quote] bowen ten.sardna@newobNov 6, 2003, 8:14pm

I'm sure material exchange could be real time. Waiting at the end of a
turn is so weird to do things like giving someone money and stuff. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com Give me ideas. sweNov 11, 2003, 12:09pm
