AWCamp Bot Class Info Needed (Bots)
AWCamp Bot Class Info Needed // BotsweeboAug 3, 2003, 6:07pm
Dear Developers,
I'm currently putting together a Bot class for the 2003 AWCamp (dates to be announced) http://www.awcommunity.org/awcamp/index.html and need some information/help that will be documented for AWHS to preserve the history of the bots. What I need is Bot names, features, urls, contacts, and anything that would be useful to have on record since some of the history here got zapped lol. The class will be for kids so we have to figure not to have too much overkill on the information but is good to have the resources if needed. The class will be a introduction to bots which will include history and applications then go into actually having the kids use it. It's hard to pick out a bot to use for this class so what I did was pick out a bot that has most of the common features, the Xelagot X1. I have preserved some of the documentation of some bots already and need more input. Thank You Very Much, Weebo weeboAug 3, 2003, 6:18pm
We need some teachers there too and would be nice to have some of the best
to help teach this or be there for support...as we know kids can be fun when they get bots lol. I was only planning to do a introduction. Hopefully, we can do another masterpiece of information. Weebs [View Quote] weeboAug 3, 2003, 6:30pm
Another note...kids will ask things like
"Why was a particular bot developed" "What inspired this person to make this bot" "What can this bot do" "How can I make my own too" etc...lol adults ask those things too Weebs [View Quote] strike rapierAug 3, 2003, 7:02pm
*Chuckles at How can I make my own too*
They will all have downloaded a pirated version of VB the day before and have got the VBSDK and demand to know how to make bots :P - Mark [View Quote] bowenAug 4, 2003, 3:23am

Why must you encourage piracy? C++ is free, many compilers available
free, SDK is designed on it as well. No waiting for it to be out of beta to use it either. I am boggled as to why you said that. -- --Bowen-- No of SETI units returned: 62 Processing time: 51 days, 22 hours. (Total hours: 1246) www.setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu johnAug 4, 2003, 7:41am
Whats wrong with pirated copies? As long as you or nobody else touches or
uses your pirate copy then theres no harm done :-D ~John [View Quote] johnAug 4, 2003, 7:42am
Did I mention if you follow my last post then its a waste of bandwidth to
download a pirated copy of anything? ~John [View Quote] strike rapierAug 5, 2003, 3:08pm
Because VB is sod easy, inefficent crap....
So everyone wants it up till the point they reach enlightenment. - Mark [View Quote] |
