To all those interested i've decided to give up on further development of
Chazbot due to the total lack of interest of this community.

One final piece of advice:
1) to those that complain about the lack of community spirit.... look at
yourself first

2) to those that think that the future of AW lies with our 'youngsters'...
think again

3) to those that think that you can get it all for free,.... think again

4) to the rest, be well

Baron: I think people may not be interested because 12 meg is rather a lot
for a bot.

Maybe if you want loads of features you should make a small bot and loads of
plugins?

Tnx John for your input,actually the bot is completely modular, but in
its betafase i dont want to add to the complexity of testing by
supplying the bot without all its modules. some serious betatesters are
sorely needed,but until now i only got 1 (count them) serious tester.

But i got dozens (count them) of complaints what was wrong without any
further explanation or help how to trace the problem, even from those
that could get the bot for free.

Furthermore, IMHO 12 meg is really not that much for any
worldhoster/builder (my target group) as afaik not many
worldbuilders/hosters run an dialup

i have decided to open Chazbot for all. unrestricted, as a friend of mine
accused me i used him to test Chazbot so i could make a profit. Chazbot
will be available without limits in about 2 hours at:

Chazbot is now available free of charge/limitations other then those
caused by the beta test version at
www.petrossa.com/Chazbot/openbot/chazbot.exe, which is the install
program for the full bot. Still 12 megs, as all features are activated.
Chazbot has too many features to name but in general its a: Gatekeeper,
Weather, Tour, Greeter, Game Bot with upload capability to update
database, Chatrelay on a P2P basis (no limit to connected worlds),
Intergalaxy/world whisper facility (no special tricks, just give the
targetname, bot will find out if the target is anywhere in any world
using Chazbot (seperate TCP/IP interface) and a vast preprogrammed
chatcommand list.

Chazbot uses the (admittedly old) BDE multiuser paradox tables since
they are in this context the fastest and cheapest option available.
Paradox has many good features, but has also one very bad one: it is
very vulnerable to computercrashes.(no rollback) A free repair utility
is available at: http://www.bpsoftware.com/products/TblUtil

I welcome all and any serious comment or bugreport. Depending on
response i will either continue this project or drop it



To recap:

As i've spend about $2500 in buying the tools, and about 2000 hours in
writing i'd really appreciate it if my peers could be convinced to
evaluate it

If you don't mind, I will add a download link of your bot to A!!CT's Bot
Center, where people can download it from. We will also test and use your
bot in A!!CT under CT rights and try out its features, which might very well
get you some publicity on your project/s.
