Hello Mr. Programmer or Guest to my post.
Could someone please tell me what the easiest programming
language to learn is and...maybe tell me were i can get a FREE LEGAL copy
maybe even a demo of that compile2r since i don't think my mom will let me
get anymore programming stuff....VB was a expensive compile2r but i might
save for it again if my mom let's me but please reply. This is for aw
programming & other stuff.

Python, downloadable from python.org is a good starter language to learn the
syntax that most high level programming languages use, but I don't think you
can make bots with it. If I'm wrong though, someone let me know.

http://www.borland.com/ has several compilers for free,
limited to private use.

http://www.openwatcom.org/ has a free C/C++ compiler
(and a Fortran)

http://www.gnu.org/ has a free C compiler but finding what
you need is not easy, they are organized like my room ;)

More sources for free languages are http://cui.unige.ch/langlist
and http://www.idiom.com/free-compilers/

Most flexible is C or C++ but not a beginners language, you
can learn that later, if you like, based on experience with
a different language.

The best one for learning is sure a Pascal language like
Delphi (-> Borland-link), it is structured and easy to read.

There are some free compilers for Java too, but IMO Java
is slow, the class libraries for developing a GUI frontend
are mostly crap and the developement environments are
bloated and ressource consuming.

The problem is if you use Java, C or C++ your coding
will be quite chaotic. If you start with Delphi you
have some restrictions that make it easier to structure
your problems. Usually restrictions are crap but in this
case they help.

I need something easy with a free LEGAL compiler on computer. My mom will
probably not let me get my own since i payed alot for C++ books that turned
out to be 2 hard. The reason i picked C++ is becuase that's what i wanna get
up to aaaand it had a free compile2rs all around.Any ideas for a "easy" to
learn programming language that has a free compiler...not java or javascript
those are web-based

Read my first reply and check out these two pages :

http://www.borland.com/about/press/2001/delphi_personal.html
http://www.borland.com/delphi/tryitnow.html

You can dowwnload there and apply for a serial number,
legal and for free.

Volker [Ananas]

btw.: Java isn't web based, there are frontends in Java
as well, but you will have a hard time if you start with
Java, the class libraries to create frontend (GUI)
applications are crap.

There's been a lot said on this already,
but nobody has yet mentioned this particular language,
with its free compiler Euphoria
http://www.RapidEuphoria.com

It has a great many features for a freebie including
Euphoria to C translator and is less than 1Meg total download

Its easy to get started in and allows you to progress to more
complicated programs readily.

I use it to make small programs that create rwx object templates
eg making the faces for pumpkins

Hope you find it of some use.

QBASIC? Wow that's something I haven't heard since.. 1993.. you need to be
very good with math and logic to do C/C++.. BASIC is way too limited for
what you need to do. True the first games were made with it but the SDK
doesn't work with it :) except VB. Pick up PHP then progress to C++.. that
should be easy since PHP is based on C :) hope that helps kinda or not,
whatever.. too tired
