For all you new VB programmers, GO THERE! That is the best I am going to
do, I put MY code on there to start you, all you have to do it code what you
want it to do. I wasted my time just for you newbies so you better use it.
It is not much at all but them were the questions I get the most. So enjoy
or don't bother asking for help.

LOL and you must have "wasted" so much of your time too !! How can you
speak so arrogantly when that is what you are offering?

These people know absolutely nothing about VB and then they ask other
people. It is annoying. I "wasted" my time to put it on a web page. Take
TheMask for example. He asked me how to log a bot it, then I gave him the
link, he asked me how to make it say something. Can people not read the
help pages?

I don't quite understand why a programmer can't make a program without a
help section. Oh, that would mean they would have to make a program user
friendly and seeing how non user friendly your post was, now I see why you
want non programmers to read a help section.

Hmmmm is this the same maka I once was friends with and that used to have
help in my world?

If so then you really have developed a really nasty attitude and really
shouldn't have people boycott your stuff. If only to teach you that people
don't like know it alls that put others down.

Even Eep has stopped doing that, at least only after giving a few warnings
first :)

So maka if you are the same guy I knew and you don't clean up your act, you
can remove me and my world from the UFP.

I do not know any of you. You could say I am new if you'd like, I was a
tourist back about 3 years ago, but just got a cit in August or so. How is
my attitude nasty? Just because I won't teach someone how to use VB I am
mean? I just wish someone would actually buy a book and not ask me basic
questions, is that too much to ask? I mean, MrGrimm took a lot of time to
make the Help files, and people aren't using them.

jeiden

Well if you aren't the founder of the UFP then you shouldn't use his
username. Also those help files were written using technical terms. Not
everyone can understand what those terms mean.

Also how out of date are those help files? You have to think, the reason
people ask is cause they know that they would answers that are more up to
date than the help files.

Cause if I remember MrGrimm hasn't had the time to update them himself. And
if I remember when you were asking yourself and got responses that were kind
and gave you what you needed.

So its only fair that you pass the favor on to the next wave of newbies that
come through that door.

Till then I say boycott your stuff, and change your nick cause I don't like
it when some one is ruining one of my friends reps by pretending to be him.

I can use what username I want. I picked "Makaveli" at first but it was
taken so I seperated the letters.

Not everyone NEEDS to understand the help files, only people who are
programming the bot. If you don't understand what it means, buy a book.

You missed the entire point of my post though, I know how to program, I am
tired of being questions that are either in the help files, or that are the
very basic commands of VB.

I wasn't a newbie when I came into this NG, I programmed my first bot during
this time but I am not a newbie, I never knew about the SDK till I got into
the NG.

Boycott what? I don't sell anything. I don't give anything away either.
Your going to boycott what exactly? I don't have to change my name, and
don't intend to. I am not pretending to be anyone. I picked a name and it
was open. Get over it.

jeiden

Apr 25, 2001, 9:06pm
No Makaveli was not open so you shouldn't have made it with spaces if I
found someone with started using "J e i d e n" I would go and make sure that
they had their account revoked because I am the original Jeiden and don't
want other people using even a altered version of my name.

We already had a makaveli so you should have chosen a more original name
instead of ripping off my friend's nick.

Basically if you use any part of his name you are impersonating him. And
using his reputation.

And the suggestion to boycott was to not use anything you create or more
likely rip off. Cause if you rip off nicks what else will you rip off? So
change your nick or I will insure you get flames from all the members of the
UFP and the REAL Makaveli.

I have broken no rules, I don't plan to change my name, and nothing can
bother me, flame me. Makaveli is a person I admire, I am not going to
change my name b/c someone who knows nothing about him is using it. You
cannot get anyone's account revoked for doing so.

jeiden

Apr 25, 2001, 10:53pm
Listen kid the guy that had the nick first was a cit longer than me. And was
the Founder of the UFP of which I am a member. And as far as I am concerned
your trying to impersonate him.

And the only reason I cut you some slack in the first place was because I
had confused you with him. So change your damned nick you twit. You can't go
ripping off nicks of people already in the AW community.

I am not ripping anyone off, they should have kept the name in the first
place.

[View Quote] Man you are a twit aren't you? He is STILL using the NICK! So your are
ripping him off! even a variation with spaces in it is a rip off. Why do you
think ppl were so upset at that AWCI now allows "." in names? because ppl
could then rip off nicks!

Your a no good little thief, so change the damned nick or I will find away
to get your cit revoked!

I would suggest anyone attempting to learn any form of Visual Basic
programming to ignore this moron 'm a k a v e l i'; he doesn't understand
loop structures, he isn't going to "help" you.

One can only hope this fool has figured out that "subroutine" thing; I
know it's hard. *smirk*

Again, I am only his cousin, he does know loops, like I said, I have looked
at his code. He uses a few, and he said he knew them, just didn't like
them.

What exactly does UFP stand for? United Federation of Planets? What
Active Worlds really needs to fix instead of the periods in user names
is the uppercase I and the lowercase l problem. Someone with an i or an
l in their name is very easy to impersonate. In the chat window, you can
not tell "Builderz" from "BuiIderz" due to the font Active Worlds uses.

I've been impersonated by a few people in the past and now by some
thirteen year-old punk just last week. I am forced to use the name
"BuiIderz" (with an uppercase i instead of an l) on one of my free
citizenships I received when buying my world so people cannot
impersonate my normal account. Yes, you can also impersonate the name
"Makaveli" as well if you are so inclined (although, I wouldn't
recommend it). I believe both Ima Genius and even Roland have been
impersonated in the past as well.

Lastly, if you want to have M a k a v e l i's citizenship revoked, see
if he breaks anything found at http://www.activeworlds.com/terms.html
first.

named "Ham Fon".

Oh, sorry about that, I saw that username used so I figured someone was
impersonating you.
