I've seen two numbers. Is there one answer?

Sorry, here is a bit more detail...

http://www.activeworlds.com/sdk/vb/vb_index.htm (greeter bot example code)
Indicates... Login_Port = 5670 ' Port.

However, Droog.h suggested port 6670.

The later was successful, but after trying it...I was ejected.
Hummm...location values not equal to 0,0,0,0 (x,y,a,r). Suggestions?

BTW: Hi everyone!!!

Got it.
(Thanks Saarus Tor SS)

I discovered the hard way that the xy scale for location information is NOT
in cells. It is in 1/1000 of a meter? O.K. Could have been in inches I
guess. :)

So (just to be sure I can find my bot) if I want my bot to land in the cell
where I am, what's the conversion factor...multiplier...whatever.

I believe that a value of 1 equals 10 meters (at least in altitude) I
think that it's just a standard 1meter ratio with the other coordinates,
someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The SDK (and AW internally) represents every coordinates in centimeter.
One cell is 1000 cm x 1000 cm (10 meters x 10 meters).
Elevation is displayed in the status bar in meters though.
Angle's internal representation is 1/10th of a degree (0 - 3600)

Hmm - in certain cases, the sdk also accepts (or requires?) 0 - +-1800

Good enough! Thanks folks! Might be able to find the poor critter now.

Passing thought, I'm looking at building a 4.1 survey/build bot so I can use
an existing backup (xlg). I got caught between a new build (4.1) and an old
one (3.6?)

By any chance am I re-creating the 'wheel'?

I know that there is some way to load a prop with a preston, but I don't
know how. I'm sure there are others, but I think it is a good thing for
developers to create something new, even if it has already been done.
Throw a feature into it nobody else has. If someone doesn't like your
bot, they don't have to use it. I would say nobody will complain about
it, but I'm sure someone will, I've seen a lot of complaining over
stupid stuff on the NG's lately.

I wouldn't say reinventing the wheel but don't name your bot Yet Another Survey Build Bot (YASBB http://www.andras.net/yasb.html ):)
IMHO having the same functionality made by different programmer brings healthy competition to the field.
I wrote such a bot but I'm sure the user interface could be made much better, so go for it!

[View Quote] I must say Andras, you are an amazingly great coder, but your GUIs really do
suck! :)

And yes, competition always brings out the best.

Ah...Yet another non-4.1 compliant Bot. :)

Thanks for the thought. I've programed in VBA for a decade or so. Should be
able to create a survey bot with the SDK.

GUI? Heck, I was going for a command line interface. (chuckling)

BTW: the http://www.andras.net/yasb.html is 404. (at least for tonight)

The latest version uses SDK 62 for 4.1.

YASBB version 3.2.1 is ready for testing.
During the 3.6<->4.1 conversion I left a few things ignored, made a lots of new bugs, etc :)
I hope this version will handle the terrain properly!

V3.2.1.71 - V4 world
- Fixed several terrain related bug due to the 4.1 conversion.
- Added a few terrain texture editing feature.
- The program can read 3.6 and 4.1 terrain versions properly.
