I have been doing a little bit of copying over; having both 3.6 and 4.1
browsers and using a macro to copy and paste my contacts list from in 3.6 to in 4.1 a contact at a time. I noticed that while doing this, seemingly at random, the entire tabs dissapear, leaving the tabs window completely empty, not even the tabs header remains. -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." I have to say though, build 950 fixed every lag problem I could ever
imagine. I am getting about 140 FPS and AW 4.1 is running fast as lighting ;) Thanks AWI for fixing it so it runs very fast now. All that's left now is to start fixing up bugs. I hope everyone else's lag problems were fixed. lol this comes after a night where 4.1 was insanely slow on my computer and lagged me to no end, but thank gosh 950 was out this morning. Plus, so far my computer hasn't frozen up tight after leaving 4.1! I tried
everything I did before when it would freeze and give me 'illegal operations' and everything went thru! Was holding my breath the whole time too. [View Quote] ferruccioJun 6, 2006, 4:44pm
I myself am seeing an enormous frame rate improvement over the previous
version. I'm actually able to fly around dense areas on 200 meter visibility and get excellent fps :D [View Quote] jaguar hahnJun 6, 2006, 5:38pm

When saving a config from particle emitters etc, or using the object type
box, the object thinks it has changed even though the user has not changed anything. Should be something on Beta NG from this where we studied it last year. -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." ok I just went AFK for 4 hours on AW, then came back (had 9 programs
running). I was sitting in the middle of AWTeen and when I came back, I was able to freely move around with no lag (60+ FPS). That is considerably better than 3.6, because with 3.6 when I went AFK and came back, I had to restart the browser because of the buildup of all the lag. <3 build 950 strike rapierJun 7, 2006, 5:59pm
The object dialogs still fully rebuild each time, even if the object type is
the same or even if you click on the same object again. Can I suggest (as a coder, to whomever is listening) that each layout is stored on a dialog frame, and they are switched between rather than doing the delete / rebuild / repaint nuke style. -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." Long avatar lists are no longer split into multiple menus side by side (no,
not the tree) resulting in having to scroll (at a very slow rate) through to get to the end of the list. Can be fixed by individual OP managers, would be easier for all concerned if the browser were smart enough to pop them side by side so they fit. -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." So when you are unlucky and your avatar is at the end of a long list, it can take a minute or two to go there... strike rapierJun 7, 2006, 6:11pm
About screen no longer shows the licence notifications for things like WMP.
Looks cleaner, but arnt these required as part of using WMPCore etc? -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." "It's our job to know..." [View Quote] strike rapierJun 7, 2006, 6:39pm
Velocity sticks when moving quickly, then selecting an object.
The velocity indicator shows you at your last velocity rather than update to zero. -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." "It's our job to know..." [View Quote] strike rapierJun 7, 2006, 7:03pm
The toolbar at the top of the object properties dialog is clipped, and cuts
off a button half way, presumably there are other missing buttons. -- - Mark Randall http://www.temporal-solutions.co.uk "We're Systems and Networks..." "It's our job to know..." goober kingJun 8, 2006, 2:18am
Doing some messing around with movers, and here are several bugs I have
come across. Some of these may have already been mentioned, in which case, I'm just confirming their existence. I'll reply to this post with more if I find any. - The following fields do not have any documentation: Detach on Bump Disable Auto Yaw Disable Move Looping Seq File Use Object Tag - There is no way to disable the "Add on Bump" feature. If the "Single Rider" box is checked, the "Add on Bump" checkbox becomes unchecked, but the Add on Bump feature remains active. Otherwise, the Add on Bump checkbox is automatically checked and there is no way to uncheck it. - As a related bug, if the "Single Rider" box is unchecked and "Add on Bump" is checked, you cannot uncheck the "Click to Start" box. If this is intentional, then it should be documented. Otherwise, I don't see why a multi-passenger mover can't be started when the driver bumps into it rather than clicking on it. - Changes to Waypoints are not saved unless the entire Object Properties panel is closed. This can make editing Waypoints tedious. - The Pause column in the Waypoints table can only be edited by double-clicking on it. With all other columns, the user can press Enter to go into Edit mode and move around the different fields with the Tab or arrow keys. If the user navigates to the Pause column while in Edit mode, they will leave Edit mode and have to double click the Pause field to edit it. I think "Add on Bump " means to add another person. So u don't need single
rider checked unless u only want 1 rider. becuase it already knows there will be a rider with the ability to add another rider. [View Quote] goober kingJun 8, 2006, 9:58am
That's not what I meant. If you have Single Rider unchecked, then you
*have* to click on it in order to start the mover. But if you have Single Rider checked, you can actually start the mover by just bumping into it. I don't see why it needs to be that way. The way I've understood them:
> Detach on Bump Enter a name of an object, built by the same citizen as the mover. Then when the mover bumps that object, it detaches all avatars. Like if the object has "create name stop", then you would enter "stop" here. > Disable Auto Yaw Mover does not rotate to face the direction it is going. > Disable Move Rider can hop on the mover but not move? > Looping The waypoint sequence loops continuously. Be careful not to let it rise through your avatar... > Seq File Gesture that the avatar displays while using the mover. Like for my cars I put sit there (for sit.seq), so the avatar sits inside the car. > Use Object Tag You can define some polygons as tag 300 in rwx, or tag name aw_mover in cob. It defines where to click on the mover to get attached to it. -- Mauz http://mauz.info |
