me :-) but i don't host paintball/hunt type bots-they can get laggy.. it's
$5/3 months (max. of three bots) you get one fre bot hosted if you buy world
hosting.. and I only host xelagot scripts (so far..)

Geezuz you charge alot! Time to brag about my server! MS Win2k Adv Server I
host webpages/worlds/bots/anything I can just run em as a service which is
what i do for most things..cept webpages..IIS 5.0 fits in there..I got a
linksys router/firewall anti virus blah yeh of course..backup is gona be
implemented pretty soon...I do any world maintence any where any time..just
email me or tgram me..If you needed ftp, webspace along with that, that can
be arranged..I can do domain forwarding but I cannot offer people their own
IP to have their own ACTUAL domain..again I do it free aslong as you keep it
legal, lol..I've had bad experiences...Server is 800mhz AMD Athlon and seems
to be kicken along quite fine..dedicated 100% to hosting.. -Xero

Well, our P-10, P-20, & P-30 prices with five simultaneous users is
cheaper than what ImaTowns charges per month. ;o) Many of our worlds
also cost a lot less than what Activeworlds.com, Inc. charges per year.
Also, if you can afford to buy a P-100 with twenty simultaneous users
for $1150.00 USD, then you can afford to pay $432.00 USD yearly to have
it hosted. =P

Seriously though, I know some of the prices seem high. I'll take a good
look at them and will probably lower most of them soon.

you charge 432 for a p100 with 20 simo? i charge.. yearly would be... 80
bucks.. (20 per three month incriments) the only reason i charge at all is
cuz i need the money so i can afford to renew my world.. lol.. and so that
not everyone jumps gun and kills my bandwidth within a day of announcing
it..

ooh! ooh! my turn! my turn! I use Xitami web server by imatix for ftp
websites and the such... for bots i use av99bot which is quicker then x1.. i
only host xelagots (so far) cuz they're easy for me to set up, and i'm lazy,
lol.. world hosting is backed up daily.. weekly to another dir.. and
monnthly to a diff disk.. i can back up to web upon request.. i've got a
cable modem (and yes, it's faster then t1.. i'm in a high node/low usage
with newly layed fiber optic cableing between all points.. so i get over
2mbps) i've got a firewall, and virus scan nightly... can't guarantee
perfect uptime, but it'll be close to it.. all worlds get free NGs on my
news server, one (1) free bot hosted, for those of 10 max users or less a
free ftp object path.. any world can use my primary OP for free, if they
stick an ad up for me.. 1gh amd, 256mb ram..all the icing heh.. i don't host
websites (unless you want a awjbell.com subdirectory heh)

Xitami is crap :P my uptime is 99.9% with UPS backup. IIS5.0 for webpages
gene6 for ftp lol dont remember how much ram i got in it but its 128 or over
lol..1ghz amd on a server jbell? you need power not that much speed on a
server, sounds unrealistically needed unless your trying to crack passwords
on it too, haha.

xitami works fine for me.. the 1ghz is great.. you'de be amazed... since i
don't host websites, i don't invest that much in it..

Its a cable..I will get buisness DSL once its availible though..barely
down..if it is, its never me, its them, lol, I don't get any
complaints..send me a email if you want more e-mail me with what you need

I read somewhere that cable is a better value then DSL-although dsl is
faster, it has reached it's limit and they can't make any faster DSL lines
then you can already get, but cable has yet to reach it's cap and can become
much faster then DSL in the near future..

Well dsl is available in so many difrent types includeing one type called
vdsl wich can give you up to 56 megs a sec dls and uploads.
Also with new cheap and free providers comeing out like winfire curently
offers in alot of areas dsl will fast become the better value winfire has a
full pay service that cost 34.95 permonth i pay 39.95 a month for my cable
and its avrage speed is below dsl ive hit 1.5 and even 2 meg a sec dls but
it never stays there for long normal is 350 to 550 k and they blocked my
port 80 and 2.
So cable is becomeing less of a good value and with winfire in alot of areas
difrent isps will be forced to compeat and lower their prices on dsl
service.

Germans who want to use the Telekom tdsl for hosting, have to calculate
that it has only 128 kbps upstream. It isn't symetric.
