My 'screen capture' does not work : ( I take a screen capture, go to
paint shop, ...nothing tha area is greyed out. Does anyone know what would cause this? Thank you imagineNov 4, 2005, 3:36am
I'm not sure how paint shop works, but if it works like my photo shop, you
would need to go to file new and make a new image file on the screen then go to where ever paste is in paint shop and hit paste. Unless you have done screen shots before in there and it's messing up now, that's what I would try. But I could be wrong about how it works in paint shop since I don't use it. Chrystal,
Open PSP go to import and choose screen capture - then choose setup -- choose window as area and set a hot key -- f10 I believe is default - once done hit shift C and click in window you want to capture and click f10 key. Now go back to PSP and the capture should be there. Hope this helps [View Quote] lady nighthawkNov 6, 2005, 3:21am
If all that fails go the *ole fashion way*
Have the window *or graphic) you want to capture on top, hold down CTRL key and press C (copy) key ... that copies to the windows clipboard ... then go to PSP and do CTRL V to paste the screen cap. Hope you resolve your problem! Lady NightHawk [View Quote] andrasNov 6, 2005, 6:55am

All I have to do is press the PrtScrn/SysRq button, although I have no idea
what a SysRq is. LOL andrasNov 6, 2005, 1:08pm

Plain PrintScreen will copy the WHOLE screen to the clipboard, while the ALT+PrintScreen will copy only the active window. Hmmmmm.
I just tried the Alt + PrtScrn and got the same picture as just the PrtScrn. Ohhhhh, well. That's why Man invented IrfanView. : ) [View Quote] imagineNov 6, 2005, 4:31pm
hold alt and tap the print screen once. Don't hold both down. after you tap
the print screen key let go of the alt. That should give you the active window image imagine sweNov 6, 2005, 5:15pm
not sure if this might help, but on my keyboard, i have an F Lock button,
which changes the function of the print screen button to the insert button. maybe its similiar with your keyboard? -SWE [View Quote] anduinNov 7, 2005, 12:52am

Gets annoying sometimes when using ActiveWorlds while attempting to display the cell grid using F10 (instead it will open and close the built-in web browser window). Is there a way to make the F Lock key automatically go on upon starting windows with the MS Desktop Elite Keyboard? Newer models should retain their status after reboot.
For others see http://www.mvps.org/jtsang/flock.html The reg files there will flip the meaning of the F Lock key. (Does not work if the keyboard is plugged in via USB though.) -- Mauz http://mauz.info wolvieNov 16, 2005, 3:50am

Posting this for Chrystal, who was having trouble sending a reply:
i asked a friend, Wolvie, if he had any idea why it didn't work and he suggested pressing the 'f Lock'... it worked, as also suggested by SWE : ) [View Quote] |
