Both sides of this issue are clearly passionate.

Can't this be resolved by simply leaving GZ as-is AND placing a
prominent teleport there to a newer alternate GZ, perhaps a featured
"Alternate GZ Of The Month"?

GZ is obviously important because of its coordinates but I see no need
to squabble when a simple solution exists.

Maybe I'm just naive.

Pretty much what he said... first impressions are everything. If I see a
shitty GZ in a world I sure as hell don't go looking around the rest of the
world for more shitty building. =\
