Invisible Wall Is Around AWGate (Community)

Others probably already know, but tonight I journeyed to the end of AWGate
where you come to an invisible wall where you cannot walk past or teleport
past. The NW corner is 32764n 32764w you can see a photo I took of the
place, to see the coordinates. Another interesting thing is, Im sure most of
you already know, is that the ocean ends and it becomes land... but I don't
remember those coordinates. Here is the photo I took:

This is a well-known 'feature' of Active Worlds; visit the same coordinates in AlphaWorld.

Ahh woops hehe, last time I've been to the end of AW world, I was using an
earlier version which let me go farther out.

Far as I know that feature exists in all worlds ... that's the limit no
matter the size of the world you cannot travel past those coords (in any
direction).

ok, pretty sure about this, and it's not so much a 'feature' as a
programming thing.
it's becuase you can't have numbers over about 32,000,000,000+/- (can't
remember the exact amount), and if numbers go over that, then it loops,
to -32######### and so, at the high point, AW won't let the number,
representing your position go any higher, or you'll end up at the opposite
side of the world.
hard to explain O_O

Just curious. Why 32764 and not 32767 (2^15-1)?

Yeah, same reason for if you build below a certain point the object goes
upto 320a

A bot is capable of doing this, but the browser (normally) isnt.

Of course if you're CT, you can shift past it.
Feb 7, 2005, 9:02pm
I thought it would be impossible for *anyone's* browser to go past those
coords, any world
