I wonder what AWI would do if they had $14 million in new funding...

E N Z O would buy a new house in the Hamptons....
then he might hire a new programmer and fire another person to make up with
it....

There needs it too, no more than AW, but it needs it. I have never ever used
a more buggy program.
LF

naa, i think the problem with there is that they didn't really have a proper
goal. seems that they are making things, but not sure what, and keep on
adding diffrent things. i mean, since it's a chat program, would need a
place to meet people, and like in there, hard to come across people, and
hard to chat with people while doing diffrent things. hard to explain, but
they tried to make a 3d chat program, where chatting aint that easy, and
ended more like a boring game.

Very true. You can't call it a chat-based 3d browser. Its more of a
game-based chat program, like any MMPG you can buy at the stores. The ony
problem with this is most of the people that use it are grown-ups that have
the cash to spend on There-Bucks (and boy do they dump money into that).
Which means they have no up and coming people that will be comfortable
enough with it when they get older that they are willing to develope it,
wereas in AW you have kids and teenages, like yourself, Pos,Stike, etc. who
have grown up using the browser and are starting to or have taken over ;)
Something they won't have.
Besides, one you get past the beautiful scenery, its get real old real
quick.

It also seems to be something they don't WANT to have. They aren't
letting their community evolve as ours did; they're keeping control.
They create the content. They create the society.

Well... we can create content. BUT. They must approve it and we must pay for

It's more than buildings. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the idea
for the GK organisation come from an ordinary citizen?

Same here, I wanted to get into the design aspect but my *newbie* therebucks
didn't last long and as a result I couldn't afford to *submit designs* and
pay real money. Paying for membership should be enough. This is a passtime
not life n death. I can't afford to pay them to submit my designs and chance
they may or may not sell. I don't want to pay them more than I've already
paid for my beta lifer either. So, I do my required 2 hrs / mth and that's
it!

Same... I've been saving my newbie bucks for cheap deals. I can't afford to
send them REAL money just to wear clothes. It's bad enough you have to pay
but their prices are rediculous! As much as I think AW is outdated I still
think it is the best "do it yourself" program (although I haven't had a
chance to see Second Life yet). Funny how There is going bad already and AW
has taken so many years even though AW is way outdated and There is near top
of the line rofl. Most bugs in There are worse than AW and There altogether
does not impress me... I guess it's a kind of one-sided view but ya know...
I don't feel I'm getting what I pay for in There.

Dunno who you have in mind; the idea for GKs and PKs
was introduced by Moria and Zandorfa who had been "acolytes"
in Worlds Away, but Moria did work for Circle of Fire back then.

forgot you'd prefer buying a new awi hq, like a huge skyscraper, but only
have 10 employees, so each would get 5 floors to themselves, and you'd have
the top floor with your big armchair, and oak desk, and a fireplace, where
you'd sip your brandy, with your jewel encrusted bling, and such, whilst in
your pinstriped suit, and phadora.

Actually the sad thing about the funding is I can just hear the discussion

the ball. We need to change direction. We told you to give up the lame
community idea and now we are going to do it for you. We know you put you
hearts into it but... this is business. New directors, new management, new
direction. As soon as you are gone we get our new partners to put 14 million
in."

You mean "huggy bear" from Starsky and Hutch?? :o) I can see that!!
with a fur coat, feather hat and cane!!! lol You'd need a pet iguana
though... in the movie they have him with a pet iquana. I didn't care
for the movie that much. They made it into too much of a silly comedy
