LOL, Lioness, I was talking of the technical use of MM DD YYYY (so
were we all in this thread before some of you exploded with emotions),
not of people! Natural language is beautifull, but not always fit for
computer models. This model is crazily hybrid, great to express how
the date is said in english, but very clumsy for computer use. We can
live with it though, but it does not stop being inadecuate. As
someone rightly suggested, we can use, in ngs, the month spelled out,
this solves the ambivalence for us. I do that on my xelagot pages
too.
