Maybe a bug of maybe not but it seems aw upgraded world servers (?) and when
you change certain righs or options for the world 90% of the world options reset so cant change the world welcome message w/o the rights reseting and the op chageing to aw 1 stuff like that (tip: cover your ears/eyes)STUPID AW WORLD SERVER, im sorry if im wrong but this is logicaly correct brantApr 12, 2004, 4:37pm
Hey KSG,
While I'm sure that the software has bugs, it's beta software and should be treated as such. Don't call AW "stupid" because you've having trouble with a beta build. Instead, send a bug report to support at activeworlds.com so that it can be fixed. When world server build 29 destroyed all the property in my p-50 world and I had to restore it from a week-old backup, losing lots of work in the process, I decided I would never again test beta world server software. You might want to take a similar approach if you have sensitive data. -Brant [View Quote] johnfApr 12, 2004, 5:22pm

But AW hosts it so its abit more serious how many other worlds have this
problem?, it maybe the browser but I don't think so unless it hates the server build [View Quote] elykApr 12, 2004, 5:50pm

the correct email address for beta bug reports is:
beta at activeworlds.com On 12 Apr 2004 13:37:01 -0500, "brant" <awteen at shoemakervillage.org> [View Quote] >Hey KSG, > >While I'm sure that the software has bugs, it's beta software and should be >treated as such. 1) Always have a recent backup of your world's attribute, property, and
terrain data. 2) If you use beta software, such as the new world server, always expect there to be problems instead expecting that everything will go smoothly. Beta is called beta and stable is called stable for a reason. :) 3) I can't confirm or deny your bug as I haven't upgraded to the new beta world server yet, but you should report it to beta at activeworlds.com or telegram a member of the dev team. You are never supposed to submit bug reports through telegrams; the beta webpages say this clearly :)

Maybe that's one of the reasons why I never got on the closed beta
testing team... ;) Builderz http://www.3dhost.net [View Quote] |
