Happy Easter everyone!
*Hands one easter egg to everyone* :-) -- Ry #323710 carlbanksApr 11, 2004, 12:03pm
Hey everyone got two but I only got one!
Happy easter and this is the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead after dying for our sins. [View Quote] bowenApr 11, 2004, 5:21pm

No, it's when the Easter bunny hides eggs for little kids to find.
It's actually not the day he was resurrected. Get it right. But it is the day in which a feast is held to commemorate it. Notice how Easter sunday is not static Carl. Get over your Christian self. builderzApr 11, 2004, 5:48pm
Starfleet, that remark was uncalled for. Whether or not you are a
religious person or believe in a higher power, it makes no difference. If Carl was talking about another holy figure would you make the same comments? Builderz http://www.3dhost.net [View Quote] > You'll die soon too, twit. [View Quote] bowenApr 11, 2004, 6:27pm

If it were a fixed date Carl could've been right, but it's not -- so
he's wrong. rossyboyApr 11, 2004, 7:45pm
It was put on this day to overwrite a Pagan festival, just like Christmas.

I wasn't talking about the date, I was talking about the "die" comment.
You might have missed my point... Builderz http://www.3dhost.net [View Quote] [View Quote] carlbanksApr 11, 2004, 11:59pm
Ok, you can be all accurate. I know it's not the day when he rose but
it's the day we celebrate it. [View Quote] carlbanksApr 11, 2004, 11:59pm
Exactly.

> Ok, you can be all accurate. I know it's not the day when he rose but
> it's the day we celebrate it. Don't say it's the day he was resurected then. Don't even bring your religion into it at all. Easter was celebrated long before Christians celebrated it. From what I remember in history class, it was adapted into Christianity to make the conversion of the pagans easier, trying to bring their celebrations and such into the mix. Just wish Happy Easter and be done with it, try not to say "Yes, happy easter and drink christ's blood!". It really just isn't needed anymore, we know you're Christian -- and we know you're Zealous about it. andrasApr 13, 2004, 5:45pm

> Bah at you NG types, stop bitching over something so petty =P
> > They would stop to b... if you stop to whine :) I never know such a person who knows nothing else but whining and whining . (Maybe I'm wrong - Eep comes to my mind :) Did you ever consider to post something positive??? <I doubt> I'm considered a low tempered man but I reached the level I couldn't take your "demands" any longer:( -- Andras "It's MY computer" (tm Steve Gibson) xelagApr 13, 2004, 7:08pm
Well, Andras and the others in this thread,
my personal opinion is that religious and political discussions do NOT belong here or in any AW newsgroup. A greeting for Pesach or Easter or Vernal Equinox is fine with me and welcome, because it is a greeting to people that have a particular belief or tradition and shows respect. Respect has to be the basis of our society. Religious statements as "Happy easter and this is the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead after dying for our sins." are not, because they are assertions that imply and take for granted that we all believe in this and impose a religious belief on others. I find it offensive to do so, whatever the intention behind it. This is not the place to proselitise your own religious or political beliefs. Some people, like carlbanks, keep on doing this, like his whole thread on the film "the passion of christ". With all due respect to their beliefs, I would rather they learn to respect other peoples'. So, whenever I mention something that could be improved in AW, it's called
whining? Let's all just say nothing then, and if anything bad happens, let's not mention it, because someone might consider it whining! Unlike from what I've heard about Eep, I don't senselessly flame people. I make suggestions of how things could be improved. If you consider that whining, then I can consider your post talking about my "whining" whining as well, so, stop yer whining! :P [View Quote] rossyboyApr 14, 2004, 9:34pm
Ferruccio: Like Eep, but nominated for Cys.
