:o) Well, I hardly meant to insult you, Lara, but you already know that..
*G* I know that doing and teaching is a win-win situation... If I didn't get something out of it for mysef I would not have done all the things for AW and it's users that I have accomplished over the years... I used to grab a tourist now and then to show them the basics of building... I had even created a "subdivision"of sorts to take them to an area they could learn in... I used to go to Juno Dome or the Gate and every tourist I grabbed for a little "hands on building" ended up a citizen... :o) I took pleasure in both the teaching and in the fact that I helped further AW's population... If it wasn't for The Real Pops and Andras, I might not have learned a good deal of what I do know about building and how the browser sees what you put down as objects... So, in my turn, I was taught also... I passed much of that on to others even before AWSchool came into being, just like so many before me had shared their knowledge... How about we replace the word "selfless" with "generous"??? Would you admit to that??? After all, your building supply yard is the most famous one in AW and, as far as I know, you work diligently to keep it up to date.. :o) *hugs* Daphne [View Quote] lioness.Feb 7, 2004, 8:20pm

Does this building group have a Web site or a forum or anything? I would
help if I had some more free time, but I'm too busy with other things at the moment. Come to think of it, I've been in AW since '96 and not once can I remember anyone building a birthday card site for me. Humph. :P Builderz http://www.3dhost.net [View Quote] > We're a group of builders that have been building for birthdays and themed > projects for quite some time now. Cyberwitch oversaw a place in AW Prime that lists upcoming birthdays and the
persons hobbys or favorite colors etc. I don't have that coord tho...anyone else have it out there? Pssst folks...looks like one for the AW Birthday Builders! AWBB...yayyyyy! lol [View Quote] rossyboyFeb 8, 2004, 8:29pm
Not if it was under a PPW, say someone built the birthday site and asked
this great builder to get under their PPW and build the GZ for them. [View Quote] > Anyone can click on the build to see WHO DONE IT. > > rossyboyFeb 8, 2004, 8:34pm
I don't see how her builder's supply yard can be completely selfish :¬)
Yes, the challenge of building a good object yard would be a selfish one - but as for keeping it up to date, well, not much for the self can really be taken out of that. We are a group of people that build for others, and most of us receive
likewise. It's not an official organization or anything, it's not headed up by any people individually but if you would like to visit some birthday areas in aw here are some coords to get you started (below) ... and most of us keep track of our builds in our own ways, some in aw, some in their own worlds such as me. AW coords... CyberWitch & dreamer2 aw 16986.57S 17285.42W 0.01a 0 Thought to be the *official* place to submit your b'day info. Also has cards, gift textures, etc. Lara's aw 23540.0N 23502.9W 0.6a 86 As usual with Lara, this will take you to almost every gift build in aw LOL Ms. Sassy aw 5556.63N 5278.28E 0.58a 175 Has cards, gift textures, etc, and does some info on birthdays Lady NightHawk aw 5571.46N 5336.31E 0.00a 180 My area done for submitting your b'day which I later found out was mute because of CW / d2 area ... still you may submit here if you like and it links to everyone else's also (that I know of). You can gram some of the consistant builders, they are: tunablues, dreamer2, OneSummer, Vera, Lara, Ms. Sassy Again, we are not any kind of organization. Most of those that build have found out by word of mouth. Some have been doing it for years and years, some just starting. Some do it cause they love to build, some do it cause the love to give gifts, etc. You are welcome to join us, if you like it great ... if you don't that's ok too. But you will see some fantastic builds just by coming by and visiting different b'day areas. An example of that can be found in my world Aeon at these coords (not just b'day builds btw)... aeon 0.51N 27.09W 0.00a 90 I'll leave it to others to post their areas if they choose to (or not). Hope to see you in aw! Lady NightHawk [View Quote] alphabit phalphaFeb 8, 2004, 11:03pm
Oh cool...Thanks Lady N!
I'll get those added to the cakewalk area. lady nighthawkFeb 8, 2004, 11:21pm
LOL yer very welcome! Errmmmmm, what cake walk area ... CW/d2? Or is there
another I need to know of? LNH [View Quote] alphabit phalphaFeb 8, 2004, 11:28pm
Well it's the 3 of us actually.
I did cake textures, dreamer2 did giftwrap textures, and Cyberwitch would take the cakes and giftwraps and create "sets" for folks in the community to use. [View Quote] alphabit phalphaFeb 8, 2004, 11:40pm
Oops....coords are.... Cakewalk 2492N 2665W
Looks like I need to fix some thing tho...moved texture paths...yikes! [View Quote] lady nighthawkFeb 9, 2004, 12:33pm

Not like ya get out much to chat either ya silly boy! For someone to know
when yer birthday is, you need to drop hints around at few locations. That way, if someone is paying attention, they'll write it down for themselves or share it with someone who can help them start a bday build. If nobody knows, then of course ya won't get a bday card site, or even wishes for that matter, till its too late. heheh ;-"p For those people who are interested in helping out with bday builds, card sites, memorial sites, or get well sites, I do know of some people like Dreamer2, Tunablues, Onesummer and Cyberwitch (but she's been sick)that have such listings, or simply ask around for coords, get out there and investigate and meet some new folks who might be able to teach ya a trick or three about building. I, for one have learned sooooooooo much from these builds. Things you don't normally find by visiting a town or a normal build. I have one set of coords for some of the upcoming bdays but I do know there are alot more out there and the coords I have are just a small listing of people. [View Quote] |
