Does AW accept solo debit cards as a way of paying for a subscription?

All Debit Cards bearing the Visa or MasterCard logo will work like a
standard Credit Card, so the answer? If it has a Visa/MasterCard logo, yes.

As far as i remember a Solo card is not strictly speaking a 'proper'
VISA card and rather than a credit limit, the account is tied directly
to your bank balance. This being the case it means that usually a Solo
card can only be used in the country it was issued in due to the fact
that whoever you are purchasing from has to be able to tap into the
national banking network of that country and check your bank balance
prior to accepting your card in payment for products or services :)

[View Quote] Some debit cards bear those logos and can be used as credit cards where debit cards are not accepted. Several bank issues such a card, so Brock is right. (I hold 2 of them from two banks:)

This is the first time i've heard of a Solo card. What is a solo card? And,
I am so glad I have a debit card with a Visa :)

Yes I realise banks issue multi-purpouse cards. What I meant was that
they cannot be used AS debit cards where they're not accepted. So they
work like a credit card. So you're really paying by credit card, and not
debit card, even though they're both in the one card.

Which means that unless I'm mistaken AW doesn't accept Solo as a form of
payment.

A Solo card is a Switch card for under 18s, I'm pretty sure.

Solo cards are limited in not having overdrafts, having lower per-day cash
withdrawls etc..
