There have been numerous threads lately involving personal attacks on at
least one of our citizens. While we might not agree with every opinion or
even the length of posts (and some people may not be very "savvy" regarding
nettiquete or AW issues/history) we should find other ways to ignore people
(without attacking them). Look under TOOLS or OPTIONS or HELP in your
newsreader.

Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will be deleted when found.

Please refrain?

At least three late threads are now deleted... please do not start them up
again or continue them. If this continues we may have no choice but to
block posters or close the NG.

Thanks

I say Bravo E N Z O! But they'll never learn, sometimes these people attack
the ones who are trying to be the most helpful even though they be not be
doing it to EVERYONE's approval.
But it seems to me it's the same people over and over again.

Well...when a person makes a post and peole answer to that post it creates a
"thread" of that topic.
Do you see comments attached to comments?
That's a thread in my book:)

Basically there is a starter post, and any post that branches off that post
becomes part of that thread.

but anyways, just to clarify, my post was addressing a much bigger crowd
than one person :P

Yes I read it and he's great with a misleading "?" at the end two lines, but
the points that made the point was <snip #1> There have been numerous
threads lately involving personal attacks on at

and will be deleted when found. <snip #3> At least three late threads are

Your point is (I guess) that your saying I misread it as something serious,
when he was indeed minmicking the woman who people here were attacking? I
know E N Z O better than that. He was warning you all to block someone if
your not approving of thier way of posting and not attack them with
un-needed insults.

Personal attacks are part of the human nature.
If one person constantly "attacks" the community in the NGs, I think it is
more or less a natural reflex that the community strikes back.

Not sure, but I think personal attacks should be allowed in the general
discussion, since it is an off topic group, and there should anyone be able
to post whatever cross his/her mind; may it then be christan/muslimic
propaganda, praise of North-Korea or trying to explain the nazis and
republicans actually are nice people.

Umm, no Drac. Personal attacks are the weapons of desperate people. If
you can't carry an intelligent debate without attacking your "opponent",
especially here in the newsgroups where people are allowed the luxury of
spending time to think out their responses carefully and considerately,
then perhaps you need to step away from the computer until you're ready
to act more civilly.

Attacking ideas and policies is one thing, but when you attack the
person you're arguing with, that's when it becomes... well, personal.

Think for once I would tend to agree with da Gober on this one. No matter
what point a person is comming from and from what angle all have a right to
speak.

To me when a person takes any thought on a subject to the personal level
that may have results in many ways as I can clearly state has happened in
the past is just a very clear definition of their intelegence and ability
conduct reasoned debates.

O well thats my input to the NG's for another 3 months

Have fun :-)
