Can't speak for other news readers but if you are using Outlook Express as
your news reader, make sure you go to "View", then "Current View" and make sure "Group Messages by Conversation" is not checked - if it is checked, clicking on it will uncheck it. Also make sure "Show all messages" is selected. Your posts should appear. You might have to click on the "Sent" column until you see the most current posts at the top of your screen in order to view the most recently posted articles. I think what happens is if someone else or you has the exact same subject dated earlier in the newsgroup, your post will attach itself to that and you must download all messages until you get to the point when the original first posting of that subject first appeared (again, which may not have been posted by you) in order to see your new post. I don't like that, but I think that is what happens. If I'm wrong, someone please explain it. Thanks. jermeMar 30, 2003, 12:47am
The first tip will keep you from seeing threads.. you will just see a punch
of random posts in the order in which they were made. Secondly, to keep your posts from disappearing in Outlook Express, go to tools -> options -> maintenance (tab). Make sure that "Delete read message bodies in newsgroups" and "delete news posts x days after d-load" is not checked.
