They say never mix business with pleasure. However, in Active Worlds, our
pleasure has everything to do with the business (and visa versa). Mr. Kwok Li, who are you? And do you read our newsgroup? What interest have you in AW? Please talk to us. Sincerely, Yanst P.S. : X : ( joemanSep 20, 2002, 10:11pm
Uh, what.... does this have to do with anything? Have you tried a telephone
directory? -Joe [View Quote] joemanSep 21, 2002, 1:22am
Uh, if yanst is so desperate to find who this person is, why not use...
email, or the telephone? -Joe [View Quote] ambivalentSep 21, 2002, 2:12am
Very interesting, yanst. Has he been world hopping? Or playing bingo
perhaps? lol And since some are interested in his phone number... I believe you could reach him at 203-834-9809. http://www.macobserver.com/article/2002/07/26.9.shtml http://www.aladdinsys.com/company/pressroom/releases/aladdin/06272002-Erevu. html See 'The Company', 'Click Here for Company Management', then click Kwok Li's name at http://www.erevu.com/ [View Quote] johnny b jbitt2atjuno.comSep 21, 2002, 2:51am

I think this is a much better picture of Kwok Li, and if his offer goes through
(very slim chance), he will be sitting as Chairman of our board. http://www.linsang.com/ Cheers, Kit [View Quote] > Very interesting, yanst. Has he been world hopping? It's not "our board" anymore. AWCorp is a completely separate entity
from AWI now. Kwok would end up on the board of AWCorp, which would have almost 0 effect on AWI. And since AWI owns everything related to AW, AWCorp can't do anything, directly or indirectly, to us either. [View Quote] -- Goober King AWC != AWI == AW robrod at prism.net sw chrisSep 21, 2002, 3:43pm
I must have missed something, but what you guys doing digging up this poor
man's personal information? Chris [View Quote] daphneSep 21, 2002, 6:00pm
Unless I missed something along the way as to why it should be anyone's
concern (pertaining to ActiveWorlds) as to who Mr. Kwok Li is, please read the following: July 26th, 2002 [3:00 PM CDT] Aladdin Systems Scraps One Merger Plan, Proceeds With Another In May of this year, Aladdin Systems announced a proposed merger with makers of virtual chat worlds, Activeworlds, Inc. At the time, there was wailing and a gnashing of teeth from the Mac community, including TMO, concerning the Windows-only nature of Activeworlds, and what that might mean to Aladdin's excellent Mac products. Though privately told by Aladdin shortly after we mentioned the announcement that such fears were unfounded, any such lingering fears concerning Activeworlds can be put to rest. The two companies have scrapped plans for their merger. From a short press release: Aladdin Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aladdin Systems Holdings, Inc., today announced it is terminating its letter of intent to merge with Activeworlds, inc.. The companies had on May 6, 2002, announced the execution of the non-binding letter of intent. Both companies reached a mutual decision to terminate the letter of intent. Aladdin also announced it is continuing its merger discussions with Erevu, Inc., as announced June 27, 2002. Aladdin announced it would be acquiring Erevu, Inc., a company founded in 2001 to develop help-desk solutions. Kwok Li, the chairman of Erevu's board, is set to become Aladdin's chairman under terms of the as-yet-unclosed deal. From the press release announcing this acquisition: Erevu, based in Silver Spring, Md, revolutionizes today's labor/cost-centric IT help-desk service model through automation of the portable computing environment. Erevu is dedicated to create a best-in-class enabler for corporate IT departments by creating a virtual partnership with end users and their customers to improve efficiency and implementation. You can find more information on Erevu at the company's site. You can find more information on Aladdin Systems at its Web site. source: http://www.macobserver.com/article/2002/07/26.9.shtml yanstSep 22, 2002, 12:27pm
AW is engaged in preliminary discussions concerning an acquisition of Wavix
Incorporated. It is a privately-held corporation, controlled by Mr. Kwok Li, a successful entrepreneur, who will become chairman of the board of the Company following the merger, if it occurs. (Keep in mind, it may not occur. There are no assurances.) Thank you to Ambivalent for posting the url's. I did see them in the search engine and gathered some background information on Mr. Li. However, it would be nice if he could talk to the people here. Answer basic questions like his interest in AW, if he is a citizen, does he like our place, his plans or ideas for AW, that sort of thing. I don't know if that's customary during the course of an acquisition; however, I feel these questions should be addressed as I'm sure the Citizens would like this information. It would also give Mr. Li the opportunity to meet the Citizens. It would be nice to be a little more informed on changes within the company because it effects all of us, as I said in my original post. Effects here sometimes determine how we experience AW, and I hope (I'm sure as well as you) for that to be as positive as possible for everyone. That is the Citizen's business. : ) [View Quote] goober kingSep 22, 2002, 3:39pm
You guys have to remember that it's only AWCorp that wants to acquire
Wavix, *not* AW Inc. AWCorp doesn't own anything having to do with AW, so Li would have no interest in us whatsoever. [View Quote] -- Goober King An empty shell of a company... Oh yea, and AWCorp's pretty empty too :P robrod at prism.net daphneSep 23, 2002, 1:04pm
Yes, you are very correct, Goober King... AW Corp. is NOT AW Inc. headed by
Rick Noll and JP McCormick; the company that owns the software known as ActiveWorlds... It is AW Corp. that is thinking of dealing with Wavix Incorporated and Mr. Kwok Li, therefore Mr. Li is not likely to have any interest in this 3D VR universe we call "ours"..... :o) www.edgar-online.com/bin/edgardoc/finSys_main.asp?dcn=0001116502-02-001385 *hugs* Daphne |
