Yesterday afternoon I notified Baron, Cyberwitch, Tauntaun, and Weebo that I
was withdrawing my Cy nominations for iCandy. I told CW and Baron in chat,
and then grammed all of them. I asked for them to take down my signs or
mark them 'withdrawn'. This morning the signs are still there, still the
same, and people are visiting and voting for iCandy.

I am posting this in hopes of notifying people so more votes will not be
wasted on a withdrawn nomination.

Thanks -
Kerstin

makes no diffrence, I withdraw a few weeks back both in email and telegrams
and NG, still my name and worlds are very visably displayed as being a
nominee.

I just feel sorry for any wasted votes.

I don't think anything is getting through, amb. I sent in throrough
corrections for the CY nominations list the first time they were released a
few months ago. Sent them again right after they re-released them when they
susended the votes. And sent them AGAIN via tgram when the CY committee
tgrammed us for information. And all the signs are still screwed up. Hmmm
I never knew I had a website. Two SW Cities? Never knew syntax owned some
of my builds either =P

Oh it's getting through all right. Kellie/Mountain Myst even emailed the
Executive Committee and told them to honor my request. The problem is that
they are making changes for some people but not for others. And obviously
I am not among the special group who get their changes made.

Someone's just not doing their job. Don't take it out on poor Taun or the
people on top. But if they dont' start doing something soon about the
slacker, then things won't go very well for any other ceremony after this.
:(

you're making an assumption that is not at all accurate.

To right there

I sent my third request to an executive cy member on Sun 08/09/2002 09:26
GMT and I have a copy to prove it.

Lets get some communication here going.

To Kerstin and Wizard:
Well,,,,,
Where do I start ?
Hmmm - first of all you can't revoke your "nominee" status since it is not established by you but by the
public.
You can have only one choice: Do not accept the award if you win it (note the conditional sentence).
Anything else? .... Be proud that you were nominated!

Andras,

This isn't actually the case. My world appeared in the original list of
nominations, for several reasons I decided that I would prefer that it
wasn't carried forward, I grammed AlphaBitPhalpha, explained my reasons and
they graciously agreed to my request.

Since AlphaBit left the CY's there appears to be a degree of inconsistency
and disorganisation that wasn't evident over the past couple of years.
Hopefully as the new team becomes more experienced the current plethora of
teething problems will be eliminated and we will be left with an award
system that we all can value and agree is worthwhile.

I agree with the last statement. They're trying to do their job, I'm sure,
but it's not the easiest thing to fill a creator's shoe. I'm sure they're
enthusiastic and all, but the workload that Bit carried was overwhelming, no
doubt. And it's been acquired over a couple of years. Bit started the Cys
when there was barely 100 people in one world was extrodinary. The Cy Team
is now trying to do the same thing over again, but with MUCH more people.
It's like creating a million dollar business over time, and then giving it
to a homeless beggar. I mean, where does he start?

This has nothing to do with Ambivalent's or Wizard's situation at all, I
might add, because I'm not aware of it. :) I'm just agreeing with jardine,
the best you can do is to support the team and be patient with them. REALLY
patient. :))

and compliment you in the same breath, and in the end say absolutely
nothing! What a talent!"
