To the Cy Committee: A letter from an "old-timer" // Community

I found this letter in my mailbox early this morning but I feel that, by
it's content, it was meant for the Cy Committee, not just for me, so I'm
going to post it here, leaving off the sender's name because they wish to be
anonymous:::
-----------------------

One thing I've learned over my years building in Alpha (and wading through
the NGs) is that there will always be the very few who find problems with
anything one does. If things remain as they were then they whine. If there's
a change,
then they whine.

I just wanted you to know that the Cy Committee has the support of the vast
majority of Citizens (albeit the silent majority - as in my case, which is
why
this post is personal and not posted to the NG...) and (personally) I think
the
'conspiracy' is just the very few's attempt at 15 mins of fame.

IF I was to give any advice it would be to continue doing what you believe
is
best for the Awards. If you wish to change something, do it. If not then
ignore those who think you should. It's strange that those who make the
most
noise are usually the last ones to actually get in there and help with
anything
constructive. They can always find something that could be done better but
ask them to help out and they're nowhere to be seen.

The Cy Committee has the support of the Community. I have no doubt you (and
the rest of the team) have the very best interests of Alpha at heart. Do
what needs to be done and we'll be there for you. Ignore the whiners. I
know I've been doing so for years now. :^)

I've no doubt that this year will be every bit as good (and better - of
course.
:^) ) than in the past. Looking forward to the Event...
-------------------
(NOTE::: I've taken the liberty of changing a few "style" characteristics
of this old-timer's letter, leaving the content as was given, so that the
many of you that know him hopefully won't recognize the letter by his
"style" and "unmask" him... :o) )
-----------------
PS... Flame me for posting this here if you want but I don't care... It's
my opinion that "here" is the right place for this post, at this time...
The Subject line says it's a letter so if you read it then only blame
yourself if you feel you've wasted your time and bandwidth... :o)

LOL.. If you think I'm going to respond "correct or incorrect" to every
guess as to who the author is then you have it wrong... The content is the
message... Why "dwell" on the mystery author's identity??? :o)

It's time for dinner here... Going to go eat some worms or something!!!
:o)

*hugs*

'Alpha' made me think of him.

remains things changed and were ignored that should have been taken care of
this doesn't change anything it was not a fair deal we were handed and
most fair minded ppl know this

I'm a relatively "old timer" too and I think the CY's were very
disorganized and unfair this year. Based on bot logs we (Ldyspice and I)
know of only 3 CY team members, one of whom is not on the selection comittee
(Daphne, Insanity, Maka) who came to look at LdySpice world. I read in the
CY forum that there are other bot logs that show the same type of thing.
Hardly a fair process if this is all true.
I don't blame Bit for getting frustrated with it all.

For the most part I agree with the "old timer" as there are a lot of people
who like to whine.. and just waste space. Unfortunately.. when you are
treated unfairly.. it is easy for others to "see" you as just another
whiner.. and not look any further. This was my first time nominating anyone
for a CY and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I am enclosing a copy of the
letter I mailed to the Cy commitee and I also posted this in the forum at
the Cy site. All I wanted for SGi, was a fair shake.. but apparently our
names are not well known enough for any committee memeber to even come to
our world. My suggestion would be to have the whole community vote for the
5, or is it now 3, finalists.. not rely on a selection committee that
dosen't do their job. Anyway.. here is my letter:
To Whom it may Concern,
I am writing on behalf of cit's SGi and Garnet, to let you know we think
your Cy Awards selections were not done in any kind of professional manner
at all. Now while you may agrue that this is not a professional pagent of
any kind, the way you advertize it all over the worlds in AW and Web pages
boasts it up to be a great honor bestowed on people who earn this award.
Apparently that is not what it actually is. Not only have you messed up the
nomination, SGi alone was nominated, not SGI and Garnet. How can the avatars
be judged when no one from the selection committee came to look at them? We
have bot records to back this up. Also it was my understanding that 5 would
be chosen, yet I see only 3 finalists. You try to make it out to be such an
honor to be chosen to recieve a CY, yet the phoniness of it all is amazing.
I don't see why you even bother to go through any kind of nomination and
selection processes, as it seems the final answer will inevitably be a
friend to someone in the right position. The fact that our world is the 3rd
I know of for certain that no one from the committee came to look at, proves
this. It will be interesting to see how many more world owners step forward
to say no committee member came to their world to see their avatars.

Yes, this letter would fare better being addressed to the Cy Committee. They
can help clear up any misunderstandings that seem to have been communicated.
Why post it here? :)

If you read my post you will see that I did send it to the committee , I
decided to post it here as well as send it to the committee for the same
reasons anyone else makes posts here.
