On behalf of The Core, and everyone at AWTeen, we would like to remember
those in the September 11th Bombings, on this, the 6th Month Anniversary.
Our hearts go out to their families and friends. May you forever be in our
hearts and minds.

I was watching 9/11 on CBS last night and it explained all the details. It
was sad to hear how much sad stuff happened. People Dying and people jumping
out of the towers. And people on the ground running from it. This was the
worst disaster ever. I heard it'll take a year to clean up. I was in Florida
on vacation and was on AW when this happened. My parents were watching news
and saw the planes crash. When they were talking I thought it was some movie
till I went out to see the thing that I thought was a movie and was shocked
to see it had really happened. I then went striaght to my room and prayed
and then turned on news. I was so sad and started crying. Then after a while
it kept repeating news so around 12 pm I changed channel to something I
forget what channel. Then my mom's parents came over cause they lived in
florida. And we had dinner. And then later a hurricane almost hit us but it
passed. That is my 9/11 story. *goes back to reading his book and
remembering the sad day.

Excuse me, (poorly informed) Gandalf, but when was anything on
Septemember 11 bombed? News travels slow out in the UK boonies, huh?
Must be a game of "telephone". Each person changing the real news just a
little until when it got to you, it was bombed. Well, I will be the one
to inform you. It was two hijacked planes led by Muhammad Atta that flew
into the World Trade Center that September morning. Next time think
before you post.

No, this is someone else. Anonymous from AWNews.com isn't brave enough to
enter here. We can see his IP address. >:)

And please tell me what the distinction is between a plane filled with jet
fuel slamming into a building and blowing up and a truck bomb. Those two
are pretty much the same thing. The only difference is scale.

Back on the subject,
My prayers go out to everyone.

Although there was a real bombing a few years ago, this case wasn't a
bombing... although that's pretty nit picky and I can see this thread
spinning out of control so I'll speak no more.

Let us not forget there were a total of 4 hijacked planes that crashed in
the US that sorrowful day. Two in NYC, one in Washington, DC and another in
Pennsylvania. And NOBODY should be criticized in this particular topic.
Nearly everyone around the world, especially here in the states felt the
anguish, the fear, and the loss. The world will remember not only those who
were killed in those attacks, but also their families and friends. There
were thousands of innocent lives lost that day. NOBODY should stoop so low
as to pick apart the way someone wrote a posting. ~ ;-"<

[View Quote] Don't judge a person by his or her nationality. That prejudice is just as
bad as the racial prejudices that still thrive in many parts of the world
today.

Yes, many of us do see beyond our own country.
No, some of us don't.

The majority of us are just ordinary people trying to live good lives.

But it's easy to attack a nation of faceless people, isn't it?

u cant say that libya doesnt donate to the african countries, cuz where u
think most the money goes? america dont donate shit for the good of others,
if they donate to a country, its so they can take there diomands or oil, or
gold or something, and they dont donate cash, all weapons to put there
"puppets" in place....

Do you want your friends in AW to base their opinions of you and your
countrymen on this?
"The socialist-oriented economy depends primarily upon revenues from the oil
sector, which contributes practically all export earnings and about
one-quarter of GDP. These oil revenues and a small population give Libya one
of the highest per capita GDPs in Africa, but little of this income flows
down to the lower orders of society. In this statist society, import
restrictions and inefficient resource allocations have led to periodic
shortages of basic goods and foodstuffs.""Since he took power in a 1969
military coup, Col. Muammar Abu Minyar al-QADHAFI has espoused his own
political system - a combination of socialism and Islam - which he calls the
Third International Theory. Viewing himself as a revolutionary leader, he
used oil funds during the 1970s and 1980s to promote his ideology outside
Libya, even supporting subversives and terrorists abroad"

Then do them the justice of not being one of those fools who think the
innocent babies, children, mothers, fathers.......on 9/11 deserved what they
got!! Each of them was an individual, not some tiny body part of one big
hateful, heathen country.

m, no thas not what im saying, but instead of all that aid everyones paying

actually a lot of the money is goign towards the families of the victims i
beleive. And reading your other posts, do you expect us to just go "oh well
another skyscraper blew up and another mass of people dead, too bad" and
turn our heads? We don't just let people kill us and ignore it. If someone
killed tons of inocent people in your country on purpose i don't think you'd
just sit there and not care. And i'm sorry about whatevers happening in
africa but thats something the government controls and i dont really have
any idea about how they do it. There are a LOT of things people could pour
money into so it can't all go to one thing no matter how bad it is. We have
to run a country here, nothings free. Not saying its not worth helping but
really, people do care abotu these sorts of things.

the afganistan one not so long ago? u saying innocent people didnt die in
those? what im saying is all yall complain bought all this petty shit, while
ur doing things 15 times as bad to other countries...

im not gonna bother to reply to any furthur posts, so dont bother....

And you shouldn't be buying cars iether, that money could go to helping the
poor in your country, or since you say there are none, give it to the poor
of NYC. There's over 100,000 of them!

The World Trade Ceneters was where the income came from going to over
100,000 families. The rebuilding of those skyscrapers isn't just American
pride or any other shit, it is to give the jobs back. There are many many
families that are now bankrupt as a result of the attacks. And there will
surely be more.

This is not all about a skyscraper.

Seems that all the countries that are poor want the US to help them first
before we fix our own problems.. It's not our fault their country is in
shambles. We probably give out the highest amount of money to charities
too.. It's always the US' fault..

Actually the top 5 providers of aid are France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden,
Germany.

Per capita Europe is in the Over $100 per person aid provided while the US
in the $10-$50 range per person.

The top 5 receivers are Sao Tome & P (where the hell is that?), Cape Verde,
Djibouti, Surinam, and Mauritania.

Mmmm . . . lets see. You have some warped views for some reason. Anyways
.. . . the US spends millions of dollars on AIDS research and trying to find
a cure, for the whole world too, go figure, that includes Africa. We send
people over there with supplies and help, but what do we get: "USA Sucks!"
Mmmm the whole Kuwait thing, well Iraq invaded Kuwait, so we helped Kuwait,
its as simple as that. Our country doesn't favor any one religion, thats why
we haven't helped out with the whole Palestine/Isrealie thing because its
basically a religious war. If we joined one side, people would be like "THEY
HATE MY RELIGION AND THEY LOVE THE OTHER ONE!" and we would get bashed by
people even more.
I am sure if what happened here happened in your country, you would feel
bad. There was some Australian before (or something like that) that said
that we deserved it or something because we are a horrible country and we
don't help people. Whenever disasters happen, we are like the first to send
aid; we send people, supplies, and money. Since when have other countries
sent stuff to us when something happened. When we have bad earthquakes, does
any other country come help us, no, not that I know of. And, when people
decided they wanted to attack us, did anyone send any help? Mmmm . . . don't
think so. Where is that aid from China, or how about England, Germany,
Ireland, Russia, Libya? Mmmmm no clue. We always get shit on. It seems like
no one really notices the good we do, and focuses on our mistakes. Everyone
makes mistakes, even your perfect country of Libya.

Besides the per person.. I meant overall.. it's the amount that means
something in the end. Like if I were to give you $100,000 million and
someone else gives you $10 but that $10 is 100% of their income while that
100 thousand million is only 5% of my income.. which do you think is going
to do you better.. don't say the $10 because it's definately not true if you
were poor. I'm not saying the US contributes the most, but it's certainly a
lot.

It's the amount of money they were complaining about.
