If you don't want to read a long message, here's the point: I'm not reading
these newsgroups anymore.


Often on the Internet, people blame problems on newbies. At one time, these
newsgroups had quite a few new and annoying people who didn't seem to know
when to stop. I've noticed lately that there hasn't been as much of a
problem with newbies as there has with one or two "older" users.

"Filmkr"/InSaNiTy/whatever-his-name-is-this-week seems to have made me
notice this quite a bit. I find myself constantly disgusted with the
contents of his posts and I am usually shocked to see people agree with him.
From visiting his site and poking around a little, I've noticed that he
doesn't seem to be the very technical type. He jumps on issues like
gathering data with the beta of a search indexing bot and makes comments
whose only purpose is to either make him money or to prove himself to be
correct in any circumstance. When I've made replies to his posts in the
past, he doesn't always see fit to answer my statements. He continues to
claim to "fight for teh rights!!!!!!!" of his customers, but says he doesn't
care what AW does to new users. *boggle*

The other (supposed-to-be) technical newsgroups are being filled with less
and less to do with AW and more with basic questions that could be answered
by some simple searching. For example, asking questions about Visual Basic
shouldn't be done in an Activeworlds SDK newsgroup.

Anyway, I'm tired of these newsgroups. For those of you that are happy to
see me go... well... I guess you're happy.

I'll stick around until Monday only to see any replies to this message...
After that, I won't be reading or posting anymore.

You are just looking for a fight, simple as that. Again... Filmkr is my veteran
Cit account which I have had for years. InSaNiTy is one that represents my
Avatar designs. I often sign my posts as Filmkr aka InSaNiTy
http://worldhosting.heartfall.com but then people like you whine that I place a
link there.

As for my care of users... I spend many hours per day helping new world owners.
I listen to the harm that has been done them. It is not pleasant to hear the
tears of a user who is bed ridden and crying because they bought a world but now
with AW's hikes they can no longer afford to enjoy it. I hear a great deal of
the sorrow of the many user hurt by this. It makes me sick as it does not follow
any normal business school teaching at all and is 100% uncalled for. Perhaps you
can simply ignore that sort of pain that users have gone through. I have a
heart... I have public records showing my care for people on this planet. I
can't sleep while AW bullies up on crippled bed ridden users and allow punks to
spout out and flame them. I stood up for the hurt ones who were double billed as
well. Everyone laughed and called those users stupid... Perhaps if I looked
into it I might find the majority of flamers come from people who have ties to
working with AW?

If AW wants $$$, why don't they advertise for users like normal companies do??
Is AW Bundled with video cards?? Why Not? Are they on TV? Why not?? If they
did a bit of work in management and marketing rather than beat up the few
current users there are maybe they would see some growth. There actions of this
year have lead to a sharp and drastic decline not to mention a great deal of Bad
Blood I doubt they will ever recover from.

Please filmkr. I know you're upset when people target you, and I don't
agree that agent1 did that. But please just don't add in stuff like
"Observe http://www.heartfall.com/eqrelief/ to see the lengths of his
charity." I know you want to boost your self image, but truely, no one
cares about it. The more you post stuff like this, the less we really want
to read.

I'm not saying this to attack you, I'm just pointing it out.

It is posted because many people read that refuse to post here because of the
abuses and flames. When my character is attacked by a child and insinuations
that multiple cits are used wrongly I simply point out the truth to the readers,
not just the postees. I will not allow records to be placed here with false
information without posting factual truths to counter them.
If you wish to stop seeing them jump on the people like agent1 who keep coming
back with flames. Help clean up this place so that all users feel comfortable
to post here. After all, it is called "community" why not take back our
community from the thugs? *S*

I know, I know, this was an attack on you. He really didn't need to post
that he's going to stop reading or posting because of, as he said, people
like you. Don't attack me for saying that, just implying from his post.
I'm just going to let agent1 go do his thing, and forget about it. It's of
no real point anymore since he's leaving.. that post won't be there for
long, let's just forget about it.

Im not trying to say that you shouldn't help people but business dicisions
are for a good reason. AWCorp isn't trying to hurt little children ok.
Either they raise prices and stay in business and maybe some of the customer
base can't use their product anymore or they go out of business and EVERYONE
can't use their product anymore, what can they do? Either way someone going
to be restricted. Businesses don't just make their product free becuase some
people can't afford it. I'm not trying to be mean but that's how a business
works.

Some of us complain about your links becuase of the number of times you do
it. A simple link at the bottom of your post would be fine but you repeat it
a few times people see it as spam. Please don't reply with "i help people so
that means i can do anything i want (no offense)" Also not intending to be
an insult, by looking at your posts people wouldn't think of you as a person
that helps people, alls you really are doing is complaining and attacking
people. Your reply to agent says that he is "looking for a fight" when hes
trying to defend himself from your posts and then you reply again and give
him another reason to leave, why can't you just leave it alone or tone down
your replies a bit?

AW will adertise if they want, again thats a business decision and i don't
really go out of my way to question the way businesses run. Ok so maybe at
first i blow up but then i realize theres nothing i can really do about it.

And another thing, just becuase you help people (obviusly not on the boards)
does not mean your world hosting services is any better. Im not trying to
say its bad but come on, if i ended world hunger would that make my hosting
services any better? Not really. It doesn't have anything to do with the
services at all. I know a marketing plow when i see one. And again imnot
trying to bash your services as they are porbably as good as any others but
the way you act on the NGs does reflect on how others see your services and
right now you are not representing your services very well. In fact you say
you help people while at the same time attacking another persons posts.
Think about it.

I know you'll reply and confirm what i've just said but its not my problem
ok, acting immaturely like that doesn't help anyone even if you help other
people sometimes as most of us do anyways (and yet we don't boast about it
and mention of our businesses at the same time). I hope you really realize
what your doing and act like an adult about it.

Bot" one and numerous others recently it seems that people are just angling
for a fight - desperately trying to find something offensive in the actions
of others. Is this really what it has all degenerated into?

If you look at the first two responses to Agent 1's post, it kinda makes
his point. For the record, I have no problem with anything Agent 1 said in
his post, so be angry with me too. No big deal.

And yet all the while you are doing your best to save the world from the
greedy mongors better known as AWcom, you just couldn't resist taking just
*one more* shot at Agent1, couldn't you???? Why must you feel as though you
must defend yourself all the time???? Could it be tbhat you're *not* God's
greatest gift to the world of 3D chatting after all???? Hmmm....gee......

Because, like so many of their dot com counterparts who thought the Internet
was the ABSOLUTE greatest thing to come along since television and who
thought the Internet would supplant *all* forms of conventional media, they
were STUPID enough to believe that they wouldn't even need such "primitive"
forms of telecommunication to sell their product as the product would simply
sell itself right on its website.

That's why AW is in this pickle in the first place. And now they want to
raise prices AGAIN??? They've just gone from DUMB to DUMBER!!! Their
*incompetance* in marketing shines like a brand new Olympic Gold Medal.

AW will never be bundled with video or 3D Graphics cards because those
companies have proven to be juist as incompetant (if not worse) than AW
itself is.

if he had left a few months ago, I would've missed him. But recently the
level of intelligence of his posts have gradually decreased (no, that
comment about my article on AWN is not the only stupid comment he's made!),
much in the way of some other people who had a history of being nice who
