Are people aware that AW has pass protected all the new objects? I
discovered that they can't be used in my world... and I am VERY
disappointed! It is like the big kid on the block is taking his toys
home....

No more sharing allowed I guess. :-((

Just another reason that I don't feel welcome here anymore by AW. Between
the prominent focus of threats about prosecution in AW for hacking...
(which we all knew anyway) to this... I am starting to feel like we are
viewed as crooks... until proven innocent...

Just one question really...

Why SHOULD you get them for free?? They're not taking the others away from
you (except the now infamous tile5 texture *by accident*), just not handing
over more freebies.

There are two reason to put no password on the objects
in all of AW's public building worlds :

- All new worlds start with the same object path that is
used for the AW main world

- A lot of new world owners like to tranfer their building
from the public world to their own world when they start.

Well I still don't see them as good enough reasons ... but that's just my
outlook.

On a related issue, which ones are password protected? I just checked a few
couch*.zip and deck*.zip files (not going through them all) and they're not.
Not anymore at least. More unnecessary melodrama??

awww malka lighten up... they certainly have the right to not allow
world owners to use their new stuff. I am thinking that if we like
it enough to purchase from them they would most likely sell the new
stuff to us.. for me i am just enjoying building with it in AW world. *

These are gand's objects. Every modeler at awcom has a dif opinion on what
to do with their models. Stacy is cool with giving things away for free,
while gand likes to keep things a little more secure. In the end awcom has
the final say since they are technicly their models, not the modeler's.
Gand was the one who uploaded the objects personaly, so it's posible he just
forgot to take off the password. People there are human you know? I find
when ever awcom makes a little mistake or change everyone jumps on them as
if it's some evil conspiracy to violate your "rights" or the community.
Rather than freaking out why not just ask gand or awcom about the objects
and why they are passworded? Might be something as simple as a mistake.

Little newsflash for anyone who thinks this is the real world. :) You only
have the rights provided to you in the license agreement. Everything else
is privelage. =P

Here's another newsflash. I talked to gand last night and he was surprised
at this whole thing, since the objects arn't passworded.

Errr - I downloaded them, right clicked them, picked extract to folder
.../--/couch5a, and voila - neither of them are password protected. I'd post
the raw .rwx files, but I don't think AWCOM would like that too much -

1) Attachments of that size are generally frowned on in here. Hell, I didn't
attach 2 small .rwx files out of respect for common Usenet etiquette.

2) I don't know what world you got the objects from, but the object path at:
http://objects.activeworlds.com/aw/models/ - has both of the items you are
looking for, without zip passwords.

to fix this problem,go to aw,go to the new object yard area, let all the new
objects load, then go back to your world, and they will work. So basically you
need to load them from aw first.
