i dunno what this whole thing may look to you. but to me, it looks like
abuse. i mean what company (ha, ya right) whould raise prices from $20 a
year to $114 a year? a pretty bad one. a real company whould cut costs. im
not going to name anyone but there are some useless spending going on. also,
a company should not *IGNORE* their users. the only time iv really seen enzo
speak is when the new gate came out and when 1000 people came in from the
BBC2 broadcast. even some of the staff that should be handeling public stuff
stay in the dark. the only thing keeping aw a community are the many
vulenteers (AWEC, AWHS, AWSchool, CYs so on). and i dont get why we should
pay extra so 3.3 whould come out. to me 3.3 is awful. i mean think about
it... "private features"... humm.... another way for awcom to ignore and
block users.... how inviting. and to me any program that asks for a CC to
test the software is bad news.


now dont get me wrong. i love aw. i enjoy spending time in aw, and it
kills me to see awcom being slowly floating belly up to the serfice of the
financial fish tank. (pardon the spelling :-)) . i just wish awcom whould do
things a little better.

finally i dont have any objection to a price hike. the nation is
suffering, so its just natural. but before aw does such a thing id like them
to cut costs/staff/ sallary... like the other companys. i whouldnt mind
paying $40 a year. thats a 100% raise, which is ALOT. but i dont see how
disableing tourists whould make anything better. we were all tourists once
(unless u were here in 96).

well im done complaining and boring you guys. ill cya in aw :-)))))

I dunno why you think they *IGNORE* us, cause they don't. Sure they are
a little quiet, but i think they get most of thier feature ideas from us
(check out the "wishlist" group. Next, they are a small corporation with
15-20 ppl and they have 10,000+ users to deal with, not to mention upgrades,
financing, dealing with all the pirated uniserver, providing customer
support (as in problems, not complaints...), and Having a life... they can't
sit around 24/7 typing replys to 1000's of e-mails and reading the 1000's of
posts on the petition, lots of them have families, folks. They knew we
would be angry at this so the released the new object set, and it definately
took them more than 5 days to put that together, so they knew how we would
react. Privacy features not only help them (keep from being flooded with
grams log in) but helps us when we dont want to be disturbed. Do you know
how many ppl t-gram AlphaBit Phalpha while shes up on the stage trying to
coordinate the ceremony, and solve any un-expected problems that might come
up? I bet shes gest hundreds saying simply "can i have a cy?". Anywho, they
are trying to save AW and keep us happy at the same time, sure they could
release a statement or two( which might not even satisfy us), but they are
way to busy there to answer every single post and e-mail. Here are a few
statements from facter (A former employee of AWCOM), please excuse the
profanity..."rick's a fukin great guy, honestly - if he thinks he's doing
the right thing, then that is what he in his heart believes - I had the
opportunity to get to know him in person, and all I know is that the man is
a truely good soul"..."I'm damn sure, that he knew that there were going to
be alot of unhappy people"..."oh man, how would you feel having to do
something like this, seriously ?"..."but ive had the unique perspective to
be in on things that you guys dont know, and am privvy to a plan they have
that will, if it works, probably end up knocking your socks out - if they
survive that long..which I guess is all they are trying to do now"..."well,
seriously...if it went belly up financially? rick and JP would still own it.
It wouldnt disappear I dont tihnk..they could fire everyone at the office,a
dn keep it running probably"..."then stop your bitching, keep supporting
them for as long as you feel you are morally able to, or financially able

and this community, you have no idea". People we need to quit jumping at
conclusions and get all the facts before you make one. They did cut costs,
which is partially the reason why facter left AWCOM. For all you people
whos cits expire soon, I'm sorry and i hope you come back. As for the rest
of us, lets sit tight at see this through, believe it or not folks AWCOM
themselves is AW's last hope.

Heya sha... IHNK :-D *wonders if anyone knows what IHNK is an acronym for
except me... hehe*

Anyway, the "private features" were one of the features we voted for so
obviously it's not simply for AWCom. They would not have added it had we not
voted for it. 3.3 also has x y and z axises! That means that you can rotate
your objects in every way! That's what's got me so nuts about this one
mostly :-) That will be a BIG change. Although, it will also be slower for
those with slower computers.

The price hike was such an incredible amount of money to boost it, it's
almost pathetic. But they are the (quote!) "experts" here so maybe they've
got something going that we don't see... I dunno, save your cit until after
3.3 comes out and maybe you'll decide that the money is worth it afterall.
Maybe AWC has a few more tricks up their sleeves. If they don't, I'll be
very disapointed.

I think the reason tourists were killed was because that the people at AWC
didn't feel that there was enough difference between tourists and citizens
and that tourists were getting something for nothing. They found an empty
area in AW and the chance of someone finding it was slim. The avatars
weren't much of a difference iether and because of instant messangers and
things telegrams and contacts weren't incredibly needed.

I see why AWC would cancel tourists. Although I have heard they will be
allowing free 2wk citizenships so.. heh. Maybe that's better for most ppl.
After your 2 wks you just tell all ur friends that you need to change your
name. Then you uninstall AW, get a new e-mail, delete the AW registry,
reinstall AW, signup for another account, and get back on with your friends
in a matter of minutes. 10minutes every 2weeks to do that isn't much to ask
for and it's a heck of a lot better than tourists. As a trial citizen you
get everything except, of course, the ability to buy worlds. But you can buy
one anyway and it will come with a citizenship too, then you won't need to
worry about the 2wk thing.

But anyway, we'll see. It might be a lot better than you think. ;-)

UMM to sign up for a free 2wk cit, you need a CC number... and you can't
have multiple trials on the same number... so, unless you change credit
card's every two weeks, you'd have a problem with that plan.
