So are you gunna start checking this place out regularly? You've picked a
good time to jump in, I can see a few gigs of bandwidth on the horizon
regarding Goobs points, which are all valid and I support. Your going to
have a tough time, but hey!...who said being a CEO was easy? At least this
way your showing some interest in our issues.

At the same time, like your reply to Ryan.'s command, it is nice to see you
taking part in the community a bit.

Are you going to stick it out and defend AWCOM against the recent onslaught?
Facters been all on his own here. And he cant anwser every single thing
thrown at him.

The Citizens Union await...but will you accept and work with them? Its a key
factor in AW's future success, after all, where would you be without the
many thousend citizens that got you to where you are today? :o)

I've got something to say.. (yes i know.. so why don't i say it? replies below)

E N Z O has been a reader of these newsgroups for quite some time, however has not made a post based on his nuetrality and I can
only guess a did not want to make it appear as though he is "against" any users. Not only that but also because no matter how hard
he can try there will still be a lot of people who will feel anything he says means something other then what it did.

: At the same time, like your reply to Ryan.'s command, it is nice to see you
: taking part in the community a bit.

I thought that was classic, especially because it was the first post by E N Z O i saw, and I thought it was a great enterance for
such an esteemed person, who sits high in the eyes of many. I think it says that he is just like the rest of us, yes he is the CEO,
but he is also a citizen and therefor a member of the community and should not be left out of the loop.

: Are you going to stick it out and defend AWCOM against the recent onslaught?
: Facters been all on his own here. And he cant anwser every single thing
: thrown at him.

I think he's going to defend it to an extent, because of business he can not "knock down" any ideas or oppinions so I'm certain
he'll be watching what he says as not to offend anyone.

: The Citizens Union await...but will you accept and work with them? Its a key

The CU died with the idea, It was a very good idea, however, I stand with E N Z O in that it could be a threat to the company and
corruption & greed with in the CU, intended or not is very feasible. I do believe though that his attendance in AWDebate will make
the need for the CU almost desengrate, simply because it has virtually the same goals and practices, however it is more of an "open
forum" then one that is "censored" even the slightest message..

The Citizen's Union was meant to accomplish the same goal AWDebate is trying
to do. However they are two different ways of going about it. So can we
have both? Or just AWdebate?

*shrugs*

If GK or anyone wants to run CU, be my guest, however if someone besides GK wants to run it, i'de ask him for permission, seeing as
how it was his idea.

It's a question of whether or not, with some restructuring, AWCom would
support it as they have AWDebate.

I'm almost certain that if we can think of a way to run CU that has a low risk of corruption, yet is different then AWDebate that
they would be willing to work with them.

Probably it is misanderstanding but I understood that AWDebate is going
to be open to anybody while the CU is going to control access to the
group...let me know

The Citizens Union was not going to control access to anyone. They were
going to have public meetings, in which the representatives would gather the
"good" ideas and present them to AWCom in a private meeting a few days after
the public meeting.

The word "good" was probably a bad choice of words. "Appropriate" may be a
better choice... either of which mean in this case that all the ideas that
aren't stupid, like chaining ourselves to Enzo's door, would be presented to
AWCom in a private meeting.

The difference between the Citizen's Union and AWDebate was simply that the
Citizen's Union was going to do the idea filtering for AWCom. The thinking
in this was that a professional line-by-line presentation of the ideas for
AWCom was a better practice than just having AWCom be present and
potentially become citizens'-fodder at the public meetings. I think we all
see now that that was its inherent flaw and ultimate failure.
