The Gate and Aw seem the 2 most likely places to find lots of interesting
conversations due to the large numbers of people there. I only lurk once in a while though, so if it's the Gate, I'll just pop in as a tourist. [View Quote] Gifs not masking correctlyJun 1, 2006, 7:38pm
I'm not sure, but I think I might have found a bug. I've been playing with
transparent gifs, and when I use them in AW they have a dark outline (http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/temp-01.jpg). When I look at them close up, I can see that the outline is actually AW background texture showing through where it shouldn't (http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/temp-02.jpg). Has anyone else found this? -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ Gifs not masking correctlyJun 1, 2006, 10:36pm
It's a drag, but I'm still thrilled to be able to use 'create picture' on
transparent gifs. I guess I'll just have to build so as they are seen from a bit of a distance. [View Quote] Gifs not masking correctlyJun 1, 2006, 10:36pm

If the mask bug gets fixed, things will look much more realistic. I like
those new tbtrees but I never noticed a masking problem on them before. Now going close up to them, I can see some problems too. What's weird now is that my transparent gif is now looking better. The cut-through is gone and there's just a fuzzy halo around it instead of the sky like I saw earlier. -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ Gifs not masking correctlyJun 4, 2006, 5:23pm

When I'm finished gardening with my gif flowers, I'll just move and move back the background walls etc. That will make them newer. Thanks. :) -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ Chat.txt on desktop bugJun 3, 2006, 3:56pm
I would like to eventually, when it's finished, put an url to my AW 'home'
in my signature, the type that opens up the AW browser and sends the viewer to the site, eg. for GZ this would be: http://objects.activeworlds.com/cgi-bin/teleport.cgi?aw_0.0N_0.0E_0.5a_270 or http://tinyurl.com/h69c2. If your AW is already open before you click, everything is ok, but when when the url is clicked without AW already being opened first, there's a bug. Yes AW will open and drop you in the right spot, but it leaves a new chat.txt on the desktop instead of in it's normal location. This happened in the last version of AW too. This probably isn't a top priority bug, but I thought I'd mention it just the same. :) -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ Chat.txt on desktop bugJun 3, 2006, 4:26pm
I have absolutely no idea what a GetModuleFileName is, because I'm a bit
programming-challenged.I'll just trust that you know what you're talking about. :) [View Quote] Chat.txt on desktop bugJun 3, 2006, 5:02pm
Ok, and the GetModule thing would fix it? That sounds quick and easy.
Maybe it will be fixed by the time I ever get my AW home finished, whenever that is... [View Quote] Chat.txt on desktop bugJun 3, 2006, 6:21pm
Normally AW is set to add chat to the chat.txt I have in my Active Worlds
folder, and normally it works fine. However, if I go to AW through a teleport url (and if it opens AW fresh - not already running), then it creates a brand new chat.txt on my desktop instead of adding it to my old one. I have AW set up to save chat in AW's folder properly. It's only when using the url that it makes the new, improperly located one. I don't want to use it in my sig or on my webpage unless it won't surprise people with that. Just an annoyance bug really, they probably have more important ones to fix right now. [View Quote] 4.1 texture/mask bugJun 8, 2006, 12:59pm
Groan. I have 508 bmps to convert, and then re-add to their zips. :( I
think I'll just put up a notice on my facer webpage saying that people will have to do it themselves to use the objects, until I get around to it. I just tried in PaintShop Pro to convert them all, but when it overwrote the old ones, they resaved as 16 bits. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this. What program are you referring to when you say to run them through a batch? That could come in really handy. -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ [View Quote] 4.1 texture/mask bugJun 8, 2006, 1:05pm
Good news! For me anyways. I just went to Hole at 2.82N 1.26W 0.00a 84 to
check on one of my sprite/facers, and it's still working despite being a 16 bit bmp mask. Hmm, unless it's been changed. Mauz, if you're reading this, and if you've had to change the bmp, could you let me know? Break it to me gently please. [View Quote] 4.1 texture/mask bugJun 8, 2006, 1:40pm

That's a relief. :) It seems odd though that 4 and 24 bits work ok, but 16
doesn't. cy bonerJun 25, 2006, 5:15pm
I usually don't like taking sides in these sort of things, and I don't know
enough about the other sweets vs Cy stuff to comment on any of that, but I have to admit that part of me likes a bit of crude humour and I find the postboned thing funny. I mean that in a good natured sort of way. A screenshot would have made a cute AW Bloopers type of keepsake. -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ [View Quote] cy bonerJun 25, 2006, 8:35pm
I didn't intend it as a laughing-at or humiliating sort of way. I'm sorry
if it sounded that way. If I had been the one to make the typo, I think that I would be able to laugh about it with others, so I was kind of going by my own version of a do-unto-others sort of thing. It seems though, from the discussion here, that there is a history of conflict between sweets and the Cy organizer(s?). Not knowing enough about each side's version of events, I will refrain from taking a side. I can understand your upset about the laughter in light of there being a previous conflict with sweets, and if because of this, her post about the boner was seen as a flame. -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ [View Quote] Anyone ever made 2048 res texture before?Jun 28, 2006, 2:05am
Here's a script for Terragen made by a fellow former Atmosphere user who
offered it as freeware. You have to do the work of designing the terrain, skies and lighting etc., but once that's done, running the script will take the 6 pictures that make up the skybox. The script is set to save in my Misc. folder, but you can change that in a text editor. It's a very small file, so I am attaching it to this post. -- Scented Nectar http://www.scentednectar.com/aw/ [View Quote] begin 666 skybox.tgs M.R!)3DE424%,25I%#0I);FET06YI;2 B0SI<36ES8UQF(BP at ,0T*0VQO=610 M;W, at ,"P at , T*0VQO=61696P at ,"P at , T*#0H[($Q%1E0-"D-A;4 at at ,C<P#0I# M86U0(# -"D-A;4( at , T*6F]O;2 Q+C -"D9296YD#0H-"CL at 1E)/3E0-"D-A M;4 at at , T*0V%M4" P#0I#86U"(# -"EIO;VT at ,2XP#0I&4F5N9 T*#0H[(%)) M1TA4#0I#86U((#DP#0I#86U0(# -"D-A;4( at , T*6F]O;2 Q+C -"D9296YD M#0H-"CL at 0D%#2PT*0V%M2" Q.# -"D-A;5 at , T*0V%M0B P#0I:;V]M(#$N M, T*1E)E;F0-" at T*.R!54 T*0V%M2" P#0I#86U0(#DP#0I#86U"(# -"EIO M;VT at ,2XP#0I&4F5N9 T*#0H[($1/5TX-"D-A;4 at at , T*0V%M4" R-S -"D-A 9;4( at , T*6F]O;2 Q+C -"D9296YD#0H-" at `` ` end Free Garden StuffJul 7, 2006, 3:18pm

I'm soon going to be getting seeds to grow my own 'miracle fruit' plant, and
I am toying with the idea of inviting Toronto area AW users to a miracle fruit munchies party. The fruit blocks the sour and bitter receptors in the tongue so that for a few hours after eating the fruit, everything else tastes sweet or enhanced. A lemon slice will taste like sweet lemon candy, etc. It will be a few years before the plants bear fruit, but when that starts happening, I plan on holding a mini-Toronto reunion. A page of info (found from all over the net) on this plant is at http://www.scentednectar.com/garden/synsepalum.htm weird emailsAug 2, 2006, 2:30pm
