Are you a Gorean slave girl? I understand that you don't appreciate the
term "freak".
Sorry, but I'm not retracting it.

To Whom It May Concern:
Simply put, you expect your customer base to pay for your business failure.
Even if you "grandfather" current citizens in under the same $19.95/year
annual fee without a monthly fee, I intend on leaving your program after my
expiration in August.
You have made several huge mistakes with this plan. By disabling tourist
mode, you have cut off the ability for people to try out the program
risk-free. You don't seem to realize that many people don't have access to
a credit card or that many credit card holders are quite reluctant to offer
their information online. If anything, I would be offended that from the
get-go you would have access to my name, address, etc. to sell to other
companies, just by me entering my credit card info.
Another reason I'm upset with this is that I can no longer lurk in the
worlds as a tourist. It was nice to not be bothered by telegrams when I
wanted to just lurk and watch the conversation. Now I'm forced to be a
green checkmark in the "Contacts" window. By the way, with all the
additional potential revenue you'll be getting with this new pricing
structure, how about allowing some privacy for citizens and do away with the
green checkmark or make it an option???
$10/month is simply too much money for what this program is worth to me. I
don't build anymore, so I am not tied to your program for any reason. There
are countless other places online to chat. I would have been willing to pay
an annual increase, say maybe $24.95/month or something in that range, but I
will not have my credit card billed monthly for this program, and I will not
pay $120 annually for the use of Active Worlds. Additionally, the cost for
annual membership to Active Worlds is now exorbitant for many of your
international users given the exchange rate for the US dollar in different
countries.
Finally, you have failed abysmally at marketing Active Worlds. I have never
seen an advertisement for Active Worlds online, in print on TV, radio, etc.
Even a very small ad in a PC magazine or a gaming magazine would have been
sure to generate lots of new users. Your stock is now worthless, and I
interpret what you're doing with the new pricing plan as a latch ditch
effort to save your business. Sorry, but it's not MY job to save YOUR
business. Find someone with half decent marketing skills for that. Believe
me, you're sadly lacking in that department currently.
Sincerely,
Citizen 83058

That should have read "last ditch".

Interesting...
If you go to the active worlds web page to become a citizen and click on the
"Don't have a credit card?" link, a pop-up window says you can send a check
for $9.50 (???) to register a citizenship by mail.

I'm not complaining, but I don't plan on paying either.

So rather than piss and moan about how much AWC sucks and
