It was a good start but too few votes :(
Now that 3.4 is "mostly" done, we will get a page out.

Actually the limit on the US movie rating system; which we thought was the
easiest to emulate (yes, we know there are no ratings in a lot of countries)
is :
G General Audiences. All ages admitted.
PG Parental Guidance Suggested. Some material may not be suitable for
children.
PG-13 Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate
for children under 13.
R Restricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult
guardian.
NC-17 No one 17 and under admitted.
The "NC17" used to be "X" and was changed so that the stigma of the "X"
could be removed. "XXX" is even more flagrant.
We have noticed that many of the worlds or websites attached to the worlds
ask for an age to be stated in the world. If these worlds or pages says 18
or 21 is the minimum then by definition the world rating should be "X".
World owners should pay strict attention to these ratings as they are the
ones responsible for content and possibly even the actions of visitors.

Thank you, you are correct in that we have the same deep love and affection
for this community and the
overall want for it to survive as you do. We read your posts, emails and
telegrams and often times as community members we agree with the views the
community has.
The difference is that everyone here at AWI also has a responsibility to do
a job and keep the infrastructure for the community running.
Everything costs money these days. No company, internet or otherwise, is
free from these costs. No multiuser space, especially a 3D space, is
inexpensive to develop, manage or run. Businesses need to make money. This
harsh reality is what caused many of our previous competitiors to falter and
collapse. While you may not agree with our policies or our prices we are
still the longest running 3D internet platform around. Activeworlds has
survived two collapses of internet funding, the first back in 1995 and the
more recent one, these collapses killed many of the other VR communities.
While we are aware that our policies and pricing might not be popular with
everyone, we are happy to still be here. We are happy you are still here.
We want you to be successful in using AW for fun and for business. We want
you to be happy and do listen to you. But while you might have ideas as to
how AWI can do better you may be ignoring the facts that we have already
tried ideas like these in the past. They might have already failed, or at
best, not proved as successful as the present policies. While we might
listen, some issues may not be up for vote.
That being said, I hope you all continue to come up with new and original
ideas or even rehash old ones to see if a flaw truly exists. These
discussions are what community is all about.

There have been numerous threads lately involving personal attacks on at
least one of our citizens. While we might not agree with every opinion or
even the length of posts (and some people may not be very "savvy" regarding
nettiquete or AW issues/history) we should find other ways to ignore people
(without attacking them). Look under TOOLS or OPTIONS or HELP in your
newsreader.
Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will be deleted when found.
Please refrain?
At least three late threads are now deleted... please do not start them up
again or continue them. If this continues we may have no choice but to
block posters or close the NG.
Thanks

NewAW is still on track.
We have delayed progress so we could complete 3.4 (which NewAW relies
heavily on). There have also been other projects competing for dev time.
We are still planning on releasing NewAW sometime after 3.4 is finished but
we do not have an exact date. And when it's done I think you will like it
:)

We have been in business since 1995. What are you talking about?
As far as my response, I am not in charge of the GKs nor do I (or anyone at
AW) have control over actions. They are a group of responsible adults who
enjoy AW and work within the community to help others. I am very thankful
that there are people like the GKs who are willing to freely volunteer to
help others. Without their efforts the Gate wouldn't be anywhere near as
fun or welcoming a place as it is. My hat's off to them.
If there was a complaint lodged with any of those email addresses I posted
the GKs are aware of the incident and I am sure they will handle it.
It IS our responsibility to monitor this NG for language. The post that got
deleted was removed for that reason.

You may be getting the boot from the Customs Aid who is not really to smart.
Send complaints to those emails I posted and maybe we can figure out the

That being said I would think it a relatively rare person who sits it the
