ahhh winamp tends to take over....he has to switch his default player back
to windows media....I think in winamp it has a place that says file
extensions or what files it accepts......uncheck them all....

Well it just seems very tragic that it could not be post-boned (sic) when I
suggested this a couple of weeks ago to maybe help the ones that were having
trouble getting to 4.1...absolutely no way was last I was told.....so yes I
am laughing at this boner....both the spelling error and the
circumstances....way to go CY!

no call for insults....sometimes the sweet truth is a bitter pill, but

It was funny....it is funny....it was news....its over....

I am sure 100 others are snickering behind their hands about all this, I am
maybe the only one brave enough, or stupid enough perhaps, to LOL in
public....

One of my worlds, a masterpiece, was barred from competition because it is X
world. I received very nasty telegrams from people because of my wanting a
fair competition and my letters to this newsgroup. ALL worlds eligible, not
just what some consider worthy, that's all I wanted. I was told to shut
up....so I shut up

I and others had trouble coming over to 4.1, I made it on time but I asked
for a possible extension for myself and others to 'prepare' and have time to
look at builds to have time to vote and the Linux people to get
connected..... I was told NO....it is NOT POSSIBLE....NO WAY....I received
insults, telegrams, some quite nasty....again I was told to shut up....again
I shut up

I was nominated for Leader, but the nomination was rejected, without
explanation, or so I have heard and he was blocked when demanded the reason.
I have 2 other nominations in there, and appreciate the nice thoughts. But I
did not go to that party, expect any chance of winning a popularity contest
(LMAO), or did I participate in anything further from that time I asked
extension. I was told to shut up...so I shut up.

I did not think this years CY was fair....honest....or caring of almost a
quarter of our citizens that were lost (or confused) in a 'natural disaster'
called 4.1....an extension would not have been so difficult, or
impossible....it would have showed they cared for the 'community'

If they do not care....why should I?....

And so yes I laugh...because they screwed up...and in screwing up even
typoed their boner to the 'Masses'....How could I NOT laugh after such
treatment, and such incredible incompetence...and after having shut up for
so long against my better judgement LOL

Anyone with a brain in their head would laugh along with me, good gutt deep
knee slapping roaring laughter....It sure feels good....I gave them enough
rope, and they DID hang themselves.....I love you, Mom : )

if anyone noticed I did start this thread...laughing over a typo....I did
NOT at that time mention any of my past problems with them...or anything to
do with them....just the typo

I was called shameful by Andras if I remember right....I was told to shut
the hell up by Strike....over a typo....before I opened my mouth about all
the rest of the stupidity.

When I did put in relation to you people running the show, I was accused of
kicking you when you were down. When all I had said was you had said NO to
any form of extension...and yet had to have one....I found that very
ironic...and yes funny

Then the insults to me started...so yes I will throw them back at you.

Never could you justify allowing R rated worlds that a child 'could go into'
but not allowing X rated worlds....you reasoning...the goreans said they did
not want it....Well I am not gorean and nobody asked us.

I also never said I receive anything from cy people to shut up....I received
it from your loving public. I received filth, threats, obscene suggestions.
Did I report this? no...this is vr, who cares. I shut up....do not put words
in my mouth.

and the fact that in about 4 letters I made one or two typos does not in any
way come close to the typo I saw in green....compare judgement with
postboned and tell me which is worth laughing over. So rather than try to
turn it on me, join me and laugh at all the errors and misjudgments (thank
you for the correction....merci) and yes ....laugh at that stupid typo
too....postboned

And now...this is the last I will say on this matter....so flame away

if you notice I say...on this subject....LOL then I find another subject...

but seriously....I say what needs saying....that is what freedom is about.

I do not always agree with others, and do have comments that if listened to
might make this place better...that is all I want...better...

I do not always go with the flow, but in stating my opinion here I am
opening myself to sarcasm, insults, threats, and worse. If you do not agree
with 'all of the people all of the time' seems you have no right to speak
out....Well sorry, I speak out to injustice....of any kind.

If some, even just one, hears what I am honestly trying to say....and this
place gets better, then I feel I did 'my best' to improve my life and
hopefully others. Instead of judging me for what I am, maybe listen and find
one spark of truth that will help others. I do not deserve insults for
having an opinion ...even if it is not your own.

Yeah I admit I have a wierd sense of humour too, but we do need to laugh as
much as we can......cause honestly....this place sucks lately

my posts were aimed at a funny word.

my posts were then aimed at an organization, not a particular person.

The organization is at fault. If my government had pulled a boner like that
am sure we would have had a good laugh, without the Prime Minister pouting
about it all....

Any organization opens itself up to critisism when it is not fair, partial,
or just plain funny.

So stop taking life so seriously. I did not, nor do I, post these as an
insult or anything to any particular person....just to the whole insanity

How can they justify an 8 year old going to see a build in pg13...or a 13
year old going to see an R (which was permitted entry) in order to vote on
the builds....they cannot....why make such a taboo out of just X...

I do think the times of the old one room schoolhouse is over. Parents have
the ability to set the rating with password. Of course the R X and even pg13
will have less votes...less population that is 'all'....

Therefore the awards shows, in real life, although R is acceptable, the
voting is done by adults, the show is shown at an adult time.

the only way around this is to get away from the little red schoolhouse
routine....best G build....best PG build...best PG13 build...best R...and
yes best X.....

then if only 5 builds of X...and only few people come in...judging is still
fairer...more votes in that 'category' is the winner....its not that
complicated.

as it stands now...you CANNOT say it is more legal to allow R rating....but
not X...that just does not make any sense at all....let the parents police
their own kids and let us adults stand proud over the work we did here at
AW, and deserve just as much credit for as any other world...whatever the
rating.....

I do not cause trouble about this because I expect or even want to win....I
cause trouble about this because of the increased stigma this causes against
our X worlds, some we worked damned hard on, but need artistic freedom.

Things like this make us seem worse than we are....Taboo....dirty....not
worthy of mention or award....and this is so wrong....

we work hard....we dont expect rewards all the time but we do want people to
see our art for what it is....Adult...pure....

We put X on it for freedom....freedom of expression....freedom of
speech....but with a warning that it is Adult, and those who would be
insulted or whatever would knnow by that to stay away....but it is now as if
X = XXX which we know AW would not allow anyway.

I just want people to be fair about this...R may have good builds, it is
also adult....since there is not a clear line between R and X, many of us
chose X to be sure ....not to make people think we were scum....

Things like this just add fuel to the fire...causing a further stigma
against X worlds or people.....

for people like me that make objects this new feature is a godsend....

It means you are emptying the cache of the world that you are in....without
having to shut down, or re-login.

I works fantastic for me....and am extremely please that AW finally got us a
'delete local cache button'....

I empty cache for our world sometimes 3 or 4 times a day....to be sure the
new objects are correct, loaded right, changed....this saves a pile of time

is also fantastic if we do an avatars.dat change or other changes....less
inconvenient to people when we ask them to cache dump our world...They do
not have to close, or leave......just reload (which is bad enough heh)

well I only went to Stagecoach once.....and didnt get that deep into it

We had wanted it for years, and I had heard it was coming....and I had asked
when I got to 4.1 how to do it or where it was....nobody seemed to know what
I was talking about. I figured it had not come.

I found out how few days ago.....

some things you know about some of us may be a bit slow in finding....even
with the newsgroups....not a lot of us followed the threads of Stagecoach as
it was not our system....ya know
