What a great idea. Now that I was babied through the whole process and it
was patiently explained (tech I'm not heh), am pleased to be part of this worthy project. If patience is a virtue, you have a lot of virtue, Strike. Thanks for helping me through it and for caring about our builds : ) .....sorry if I broke your pretty page hehe.... Could the thumbnails beside the teleports (not sure what that is now) be possibly screenshots of the builds if available? Would be nice to get a peek at each target. Good project Strike....hope to see it grow sweets Trivia anyone?Feb 17, 2006, 9:24pm
Trivia at world Taurius
Because of my love of trivia I have decided to try something a little different. As of Midnight tonight VRT, I will be running a series of games....1001 questions per series not really sure how many series there will be, maybe just the one. Visitors are welcome to drop by anytime this weekend to answer as many questions as they can, revisiting anytime to accumulate further points As of this moment there is no prize other than a good pat on the back for the victor. It is more of a test to see if anyone would even be interested in such a game....if there is, maybe we can work something out in time. sweets world - Taurius **please note is an adult world for adults only. Some questions may not be appropriate for young users - thank you. Trivia anyone?Feb 18, 2006, 3:29pm
well 12 hours of the 48 has passed....was planning to do this from friday
midnight to sunday midnight vrt....now I just don't know if worth it. total visitors (playing or not) = 0 total questions answered = 0 Yes its an X world....yes its for adults....but all I am getting is nasty comments. The questions are not X rated....the warning on the questions is the warning that comes from the script program for the bot....xelagot....the world is X but I am sick of people judging it to be smut or a cyber world. I like to think it has class. A lot of work went into my world. I did not do this to interfere with anyone else's parties or events. I did it this way so people could drop by 'when they could' to add additional points to their score. I was hoping it would give adults something extra to do, other than cyber, bingo and teen events and maybe get them out exploring and meeting new people. I was wrong, I failed over the years I have seen the visitors dropping....we used to have a 10 limit and it used to be humming here but years ago we dropped it to 5 (even with tourists) because the visitors just were not around anymore. Now?, lucky if we can get one visitor for the whole weekend since AW made such a taboo out of R and X worlds not being on the main world list for new users. If it is so well hidden it must mean SEX. 'Good' citizens do not want to be seen there, and the others want cybersex because THAT is what they expect a taboo world to have.....must be bad if AW hides them so well. Adult world is just exactly that...for adults...R or X....means we can say what we feel.....build with less restriction (michelangelo, picasso, davinci are considered porn here yet visited by school children al over the world). We have always been X and had no problems with it, until aw decided not to show us, or discuss us, or allow any word of us. Cy awards also kicked in and denied X worlds any ability to receive awards.....why? .... I have been here a long time...Taurius has been here a long time...and I do now think too long. So to set things straight....Taurius is an X world.....it is not a place for children. I do NOT allow cyber in my world. I expect people that come to act like adults or they are forced to leave....and I do stress forced. sweets Trivia anyone?Feb 26, 2006, 9:33pm
The game started off to a slow start but although still not too many people
know about it, the ones that have been coming these last 2 weekends have seemed to really enjoy the games, rather than an empty silent world as they explore. They come in, they wander, throw answers, leave, come back, answer a few more. Some just come in to grab a few quick points few times during the day when they can manage a few minutes in their real lives to get in to play. Some get their real life families to help them out (I love that heh) I found that many of the questions were just too hard for the average joe, making some people feel dumb rather than having a good time. I removed 1,000 such questions, leaving some hard and some easy (trying to be fair to all IQ'S lol) and plan to add newer, easier questions and answers over time. I want people to have fun, enjoy themselves, answer, argue, laugh....not feel stupid. So yes, I will be continuing the trivia games for anyone interested in playing. The games will run every weekend from 12:01am Saturdays to 11:59pm Sundays in world Taurius, approximately 4 games of 1,001 questions each, per weekend (approx 12 hours each game). Players may leave and return to add points to their score anytime during each game. Results for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places are posted on a sign at GZ at the end of each game and will remain posted for the week following. My world only allows 5 visitors, so of course it is first come first serve. Hop in when you can : ) sweets Trivia anyone?Feb 26, 2006, 9:36pm

I was sitting here thinking the same thing when I woke this morning. On Feb
25 I advised by the application form of trivia every weekend. In checking the site I see it is not listed. Applications had to be in 'before' the 25th of the month I find out now. Therefore I suppose the whole month of trivia will not be shown, until next month. OK, I learned, it is the first time I have ever tried to list any form of 'event' and now I know the 'rules'. To me this seems a bit outdated, and not very useful for 'events' that happen at AW. Many of them are pretty spontaneous. I am not a web site builder, just a common builder of AW, but does it take a whole month to update a site? Even I can do it faster (ok maybe not always correct heh)....I can understand 48 hours maybe for notices, but plan a month in advance? Most AW people cannot think that far in advance. Maybe this kind of calendar works in real life, but here it is a bit useless. We need something that shows 'instant events', thought of and planned a bit last minute. It is not like AW has a zillion events being thought up. We need every event that can be thought of to get some life back in this place. What is happening today? What bright idea or birthday does someone want to celebrate. Somebody gets a new program and wants to hold a game to try it out and gets it ready to go a few days later. How can that person get some spark of interests in these dull times...wait a month? By then time has moved on, fast in VR. How about letting us have some form of access to list 'wazzup today' events. What is on the calendar for the month, updated regularly (even once a week makes more sense)..... AWEC is 2.2 trying to run in a 3.4 world that has a 3.6 mentality LOL and I see no future for such a calendar in the 4.1 age, whenever that may be.....modernize or die.......I think it is time for AW to find a NEW calendar representative and style - one that works in our 'fast food society' sweets AWEC's incompetence is simply unacceptableApr 3, 2006, 2:09pm
UPDATE:
Well April is here, calendar is out, and we are not listed. GAME OVER! sweets Error associated with command?Mar 15, 2006, 6:10pm
actually, Stacee, your explanation was the only one close enough to make
sense...,.Andras saying 'ignore the error' is just plain ridiculous create name a,animate me clr_marb. 1 1 900,astart;adone texture clr_marb name=a,astart a this command needs some sort of animate texture to make it all work and it does not really matter what that texture is as long as it is in the path. create animate me was the old way of doing the simple create texture we use now, but seems to still be needed in the astart commands Andras - NEVER IGNORE AN ERROR MESSAGE!!! shame on you sweets 4 1 Release updateMar 30, 2006, 11:36pm

it is, don't give him ideas LOL *puts thickwax.rwx into Enzo's ears. first....I don't believe it is coming second....I don't believe it isn't coming third...I do believe HE will get us one way or the other April 1st. so one way, or the other, or the other, it will happen, whatever is or isn't, that is going to happen or not happen, what will be or not be, and I refused to be surprised Umm Well... that is the only way I have survived thinking at AW LMAO sweets FREE : Cute Chick avatarApr 5, 2006, 12:57am

was not exactly my point....bad timing and insensitivity....not like they do
not read NG recently. I have been to Sparkles, have they been to Taurius, even for a game that supposedly interests them enough to hold and mention the DAY AFTER my event is NOT on the calendar? I know this is not my game or an original though. but I also know that what was done was both insensitive and uncaring to any feelings I may have had about anything to do with AW.... This seems to be a handy little tool. I have not installed it yet as I do
have a few reservations. By Login information, I presume you mean our cit names and password. I really do not like giving my password to anyone that is not affiliated with AW. I do not think you could prove to me that you could not and do not have access to the password I type into that file. I will be keeping an eye on this though for comments as it does seem like a good tool. Thought of offering it to aw? sweets AW MessengerApr 17, 2006, 3:18pm

Do you plan to bring back categories for the R and X worlds? Or will this
again be an unfair 'game'? sweets 5 days left on world is it worth me renewing?Apr 24, 2006, 12:42am
I would just be happy if they fixed the messed up contact lists....wait for
4.1? Hell, I am still waiting for 3.6 to work right.....I do think our contact lists, should be top priority. I tend to worry more about what I am paying for now than what I may or may not have to pay for later sweets 5 days left on world is it worth me renewing?Apr 24, 2006, 1:13pm
it does not refresh itself right....for about a year now. People go offline
and checkmarks remain...people come online and no checkmark appears....terribly annoying This I first reported to chrispeg when it first started happening and was not believed. Until a GK also noticed it, then I was believed and informed there would be an update to fix it. The update came and went. When I advised chrispeg that it had not worked and that the contact lists were still not refreshing, I was ignored again.. And many many months later, it is still broken. Manual refreshing helps (Login) but it is not exactly what we are paying for. I like to know who is online or offline when it happens, not after the fact. And no, I am NOT the only one with this problem. Many of us have complained to no use, seems their 4.1 is more important than fixing the big problem of 3.6 sweets Screen Burn InApr 29, 2006, 2:33pm
wow I had just said that to my friend couple weeks ago....been a long time
since I bothered with screensavers but recently loaded some in because I noticed that there is now a ghost image of the AW area where you type for chat on this new monitor.... my monitor is on 24 hrs/day and usually aw is open in front. Mine is a KDS 17 inch. The two 11 inches I had were both over 10 yrs old before they would get like this one has gotten in 2 years.....maybe the 17 inches? Is it possible they burn faster the larger they are? sweets CuriousMay 4, 2006, 8:26pm
1. My brother was a geek always dragging me to his boring computer to see
some boring web page whenever I visited. Fed up, one day, I told him was boring shit and why could he not find something cool like three dimensions like on tv....challenged he surfed for three dimensional and found AW. Next visit I saw it, and fell in love, while he gloated over his not so boring computer. There were no cits or tourists then but not sure what year that actually was...I seem to remember doing cartwheels in brazil heh... 2, took years before I allowed a computer in my house but each visit to my brother's I asked to see that active world. Fear of technology LOL. When I got my first computer, first program in was AW ...for about a year was all I had LOL....(my brother groaned and called it a 2,000$ AW Machine, which it still is as I still hate surfing LOL) I became excellent at destroying tourist properties, or garbage, and was content as tourist for years. I became a cit because a friend opened a world for a gang of us to build. I went off alone tried to build at yellow, adored it, got my cit that day so I could build at tonycat world.... 3. I have been a cit since june 2000 and have 1,181 days logged on my main cit. 4. best feature has to be the building. 5. I have created worlds, objects, dreams and nightmares LOL (oh yeah....and huge lag) 6. Building is the top activity, meeting people and finding good friends is next. I have been lucky to be able to travel a few times to meet many of the people here one on one. Once I travelled 48,000 km, all of canada and 48 usa states and met 20 people that time at their homes. It took 4 months of driving and living in a van with a dog and cat, but I will never forget the experiences and people I have met in activeworlds. It opened the world to me that I really did not know existed more than picturebooks LOL..... Thank you "that active world" sweets |
