Can you please do something to stop people from making propdumps from the
cache files? This is a major security problem. People could go in your world, wait for it to fully load in and then create a full propdump of it without your permission or knowledge they are doing it. I don't like doing all my hard work just to have someone copy it and dump it into there world under there name using similar objects then calling it there work. I understand that some may want this ability in case something happened to the world server and the only backup is in there cache. But most of us use a bot to backup everything or make regular backups of the world through the admin. tool. Object-Terrain HolesMay 25, 2003, 4:48am
good idea, would be great for tunnels popping up through it.
Although one could also make a hole in the terrain then make an object the same size and shape deform as a terrain cell and cut a hole in that object then do a hole for that terrain cell and put the object over it. But that's just way to much work lol Here is another idea, that came to mind when reading your post. You now how we can change the texture on the terrain cell by cell? What if there was a way to also have terrain objects that are numbered just like the textures are and let the user pick what terrain object number they want for that cell? Changing the terrain height will still stretch these objects. And have the edit box look something like this? Wouldn't this cause a major flood for you?
What if all citizens deside to have news and it was all flooded to you in a big mass of text when you ask for it. I think people posting news in here is good enough as most of us read them anyway. Many to read and not post. That is what general.discussion and community sections are for. [View Quote] Accidentally blocked join requestsMay 25, 2003, 8:20pm

You could stream the video from your PC if you have the rights tools.
But you would also need a good internet connection. [View Quote] voice chat would be nice :-)May 25, 2003, 5:35pm
Built in voice chat would be nice.
Have it set up by world letting you only voice chat with others in the same world you are in. The feature would be listed on the tabs and can also be turned on or off. One other chat program that has done this is excite chat. They call it VP places. It is just a chat program when you enter web urls to sites and anyone at the same url as you shows up in the room as a chat picture icon of the users choice can even make your own if you want. And on the side you can turn the voice chat on or off and only hear those looking at the same web site you are. Last I was there I think they where using Hear Me for there built in voice chat system. voice chat would be nice :-)May 25, 2003, 8:17pm
No need for that.
As only one person can talk over it at a time. And can only talk uninterrupted for a set time limit then it cuts them off for another person to talk. If you doing a meeting type chat you have to hit the talk button again to pick up where you left off at. This feature keeps people from hogging it. That feature would also stop someone from just putting the mic next to a radio and blocking all voice chat. It also has a mute feature to mute users to you don't hear them. Seems to work very well on there chat program. [View Quote] voice chat would be nice :-)May 27, 2003, 9:22pm
there still is a program called HearMe and many used it, it was free now you
have to pay for it to use it. [View Quote] fix the news groupsMay 27, 2003, 9:21pm

Yes, that is yourself reloging in again.
There are times the server just sites at the authorizing stage trying to verify your username and password. [View Quote] Cell Grid EnhancementMay 29, 2003, 2:30am
I agree
But rather then just RGB let us enter a hex value so we can make it any color we want. [View Quote] Drag Selector.May 29, 2003, 11:57am
you can drag it around :-)
right click the object once then left click hold and move the mouse around. opps read that wrong lol
you can select all objects the the same cell buy holding the ctrl key in when selecting. hold shift along with the ctrl and select stuff to pick many cells of objects up at once and move all at once. But careful doing that is when you release it all it can and will overload the world server and you will have objects fly back to where they where. [View Quote] Drag Selector.May 29, 2003, 6:15pm
Yep, I think that is what they are talking about also.
However moving a massive amounts of objects like that will overload the server forcing many objects to go right back where they where before you went to move them. [View Quote] Request for script or programMay 29, 2003, 7:22pm
I know of one that will create an object yard by reading a object registry
file Use this to make a registry file if you don't already have one. Note: this is just for the bot to read, you don't have to apply the registry to the world if you don't want one. http://www.andras.net/tools.html#reggen Once you have a registry file of your objects use this to create the object yard. Note: this one takes some time to configure it just the way you want it, you may end up reconfiguring it and reloading the object yard a few times. http://oct31.de/aw/awreg2prop/index.html [View Quote] elevdat2dmp utilityJun 2, 2003, 11:48am
I think he's talking about using the propdump, atdump, and elevdump exe's
making dump files from the browser cache. It did do that for 3.3 cache files but it's not doing it for 3.4 cache files. [View Quote] fix mid's pleaseJun 3, 2003, 4:56pm
Say you have a mid trigger object with named objects around it in the same
area playing the same song to all them named objects. Or just have many of the same mid all over the area you want it in. Can you make it so the mid will not rest before it's finished playing if you loose sight of the farthest one? It did this in version 2.2 and earlier but only if it was the 100% same mid on all objects. I don't like walking around and it resets in the middle of the song just because you lost sight of the farthest object it was on. Shouldn't the closer ones keep it going without resetting it like it did in version 2.2 ? fix mid's pleaseJun 7, 2003, 12:05pm
Also please add a "nofade" command for us so we can make mid files not fade
when you walk away from them just like they where in version 2.2 Don't get me wrong, fading is good for radios and stuff in the room to give a real feel of the music fading in and out as you walk away or to it just like in real life. But its not real good thing to have full area background music fading in and out on you when it should be constant like in 2.2 [View Quote] fix mid's pleaseJun 7, 2003, 2:51pm
Yes it dose, but it will not loop that way, and if you come to another mid
that is different it will not start till the 1st one finished. I need no fading, looping on, and the mid to stop when you are close to a different one so it can start playing. [View Quote] fix mid's pleaseJun 8, 2003, 9:43am
do this on 2 objects in the same area about 5 meters apart.
"replace mymid.mid with your mid choice" 1st object = create sound mymid.mid loop 2st object = create sound mymid.mid loop Ok now move from one to the other, notice how the one you are closest to always plays? Now on the same objects do this. 1st object = create noise mymid.mid 2st object = create sound mymid.mid Loop don't work for this. Ok now move from one to the other, notice how the one you are closest to will never play until the other mid has played all the way to it's end and stopped? Even if you remove that mid object it will still be playing it till it finishes before starting any others. This is why I can't use the noise command for this. [View Quote] fix mid's pleaseJun 8, 2003, 9:46am
Opps typo, sorry.
That all should read like this. do this on 2 objects in the same area about 5 meters apart. "replace mymid.mid with your mid choice" 1st object = create sound mymid.mid loop 2st object = create sound mymid.mid loop Ok now move from one to the other, notice how the one you are closest to always plays? [View Quote] object number requestJun 7, 2003, 12:09pm
You know how bots can see the object number?
Can this number also be put on the object properties box somewhere? object number requestJun 8, 2003, 4:55pm
would be a good thing for all to see the number that way if we need to use
it for games and stuff we don't have to log a bot in to scan the area to see it. Some bots rely on that number to ID certain objects that it uses for the games. [View Quote] object number requestJun 8, 2003, 8:01pm
Yes I know.
But some bots need that number and the user must find some way to get that number. Most bots that need that number are programmed to give it to you if you click the object. But some don't do that and you have to bring another bot that can see the numbers and scan the area to find out the number. [View Quote] ICS vs AW file transferJun 13, 2003, 1:54am
To solve many problems with ICS and firewalls can you make it so we can
choose the port that is used for the file transfer feature? Configuring a firewall to allow file transfers is easy to do but if you have an ICS computer you can't really do anything to config that. ICS steels alot of ports on the host computer and sets them up for ICS in/out only. This is only doing this on the ICS host computer. I have configed many of my programs including the AW world server that use the internet to use other ports as a work around the ICS but we also need a way to do the same for the AW browsers file transfer port to set it to what ever port we want it to use. Unlimited Object Limit REQUESTJun 14, 2003, 7:40am
Why would you want that many objects in your world?
If your cell limit is on huge and getting area full warnings then hardly anyone will go in there due to all the lag that will be caused. I have been in worlds built like this filling all the cells to there max on huge and the fps was down at 1 or less then 1. Don't get me wrong the worlds where very nicely built and all. But you could not move around at all, maybe one inch per under 1 second at best. Some of them 3D homepage objects on that megapath do have a real high poly vert count and will cause lag so be careful with those if your using them when you build. Not sure as to why they where created that way, looking at them in the world they appear to have a low normal poly vert count but they do not. [View Quote] ContactsJun 25, 2003, 12:29am

A better idea would be when the citizenship runs out a red X will show up next to there name till they renew it [View Quote] avatar attachable objectsJun 30, 2003, 7:21am
