I fully agree Alex, especially since I am in a location that does not change
for Daylight Savings Time.
GMT times does not change, why should VRT time?

It appears the AW Universe Server is having problems.
So far this day it has blipped out 4 times (about 4:30 pm 5:30 pm 8:00 pm
and 8:25pm all VRT).
Result is all bots get bumped off but cannot relog back in until the
Universe server releases enough bot slots (if all bot slots for that cit are
in use the Bot Limit Exceeded error occures),
most cits get ghosted off and have to wait for the server to release their
account to relog back into AW,
many worlds get disconnected.
I deal with all three so see all of them.
As mentioned by some others, other internet access, including the AW web
site and NGs are not affected.
Why it is happening, dunno.
Why the effects occur, dunno.
AW would have to answer those why's..

One thing that has changed is not good, the transparency of textures on
models and avatars is not rendering correctly now with 558 where it was
fine with 557.
Textures that have a transparency are now rendering totally opaque.

First, don't compare hosting a world and hosting an OP.
A world can be run form almost any computer on the internet, with only a few
limitations, esp where a router is involved.
An Object Path IS in fact a normal Internet Web Site, just arranged special
for the purpose.
So normal WWW and FTP accesses (if you need remote uploading) are needed,
and the OP location needs to be a fixed IP and/or Domain, it should not be
on a connection that changes IP addresses, like dial-up and some DSLs.
(Even some cables.)
World and OP can run from the same computer, but they are very different
access handling on the internet, and not at all similiar.

Most of Arden SeaMasters recent build work was on his own world.
Please visit his world MyDream to remember him.

Very old information to say the least as Seanchan is long gone from Active
Worlds and the PeaceKeepers.
Which goes along with most of the rest of the mis-information presented on
that web site.

If the person is hearing WAVs and MP3s but not MIDIs, assuming MIDI's are
checked to hear in the AW browser, then check the Windows Mixer settings and
maker sure SYNTH is not all the way down and is not muted.
If that doesnt help, not sure where to look after that.

Of course the off shoot of this, is that you cannot add someone to your
contacts to block THEM without their permission.
Very serious catch-22 for that one I think.

Just add the world name to the dump file names, and that will keep them
seperate.
I also include the date in the filename for multiple dumps of the same world

Yes, I still get them, usually when two people sent telegrams to me at the
same time,
I get a third thats totally blanke. No sender, No text.
This was reported earlier, and is being worked on, I was told.

Correct. The blank telegrams are not missing or corrupt data, simply a
generated phantom telegram.
This is a AW Universe bug, yes, but it is not missing or corrupt data
problem, and I agree it is lower priority
than some other issues, but they are working on it.
