Reinstalled WinXP Services Status help please?

Aug 29, 2003, 5:49pm
Hey Andras:)
The server is the one I use as a personal pc also.
It connects directly to the Net via dsl connection.
I'll try what you suggested and see if that helps.
This XP has way too much to offer!:)

Well...the problem was in my XP Services settings...thanks Andras and all:)
BUT....I also had quite a mess in my router settings.
Also...thanks Andras for your link at
http://andras.net/router_aw/router_aw.html#Linksys
I went there and compared it to what our router was configured to and what a
mess it was!
I am wondering how the heck it got changed now...weird.
Anyways...thanks everyone for all your great assistance!
Sincerely,
Bit:)

Well...I disabled Winxp stuff that Andras recommended, then went to his
router help page for our router and checked the settings there.
Andras's link page to routers is at www.andras.com
I had noticed that the ip addy in the router had changed.
Also, our Internet Provider had changed our pc IP addy when we had
connection problems.

Lotto?

Sep 1, 2003, 5:29pm
Hey...anyone know who this Lotto person is by any chance?:)

Lotto?

Sep 2, 2003, 10:59am
Thanks Lioness.:)

I don't know who Lotto is either, but I can guarentee you that if he is
approaching young children, authorities will be notified.
I read the thread Weebo posted earlier, and was a bit shocked until I
personally witnessed Lotto harassing him. Now I understand Weebo's need to
release.
Lotto, if your'e reading this, please note that people are watching you.
I'm not talking about PK's or GK's or even AWI. I am talking about the
Community. Mothers, Fathers, Aunts, Uncles, Friends, etc.
I am currently gathering complaints regarding you, and will make sure
authorities are notified, should they all look like a legitimate concern.
Lotto, you never know if you are talking to a child or an adult do
you?:)
Parents beware on this one:(

Old Timers Day

Kudos to AWHS for the One Summer's idea of hosting old timers day get
together!
I saw a ton of old citizen names there....woooohooo!
And from listening to everyone, they all parted having had a great time
seeing old friends and sharing information of what they have been up to
since their parting.
I even heard quite a few mention the possibility of them returning once
they saw how many folks were still in AW...yayyyyyy!
Let's do it again sometime!:)

See what I mean?

The Cy Awards

Sep 17, 2003, 1:49pm
Dear Activeworlds Community,

Just wanted to let you know that I have started the Cyawards world new
look and should I get it done in time, we can be looking at a ceremony in
May.
May is the actual anniversary of the first awards, so it would only be
fitting to hold them anually at that time.
In the meanwhile, the world is open for sneak previews.
If you have any suggestions, please feel free to offer it:)
If you see me inworld and I don't answer, it's because I'm in another
program. Just leave me a gram and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
For the 2004 awards, we will be adding "Teen" categories. I'm still
debating in which divisions and would appreciate any input.
The Cys are still "General audience" rated.
I know some of you are dissappointed that the 2003 awards were moved to
May of 2004, but please rest assured...they will be worth your wait:)
Hopefully, we will have IRL awards certificates to mail out also.
That's just a few new additions for the Cys.
Some folks have stopped by and offered to help build, but currently I'm
making an object at a time and building it, and really don't have any
building anyone can do. Thank you ever so much for offering though:)
Thank you for your patience!:)

Sincerely,

AlphaBit Phalpha

3D Fish Models made by Captain Pilot

Sep 22, 2003, 1:37pm
Dear Activeworlds Community:)

I am posting this for everyone that needs some aquatic models for their
world. Captain Pilot has made a beautiful set of 3d fish models for a great
price!
I've seen them and they are VERY realistic:)
Thanks!
Bit:)

From Captain Pilot;

You can get the 12 fish set for only $20 or the 24 +1 free fish set for a
bargain of $35. Of course Captain Pilot will be open to suggestions on lower
pricing. You can pay buy mailin check or by paypal.

See the page on these models for more information at
http://www.david.4hv.org/truespace/81303-v.php

The models are mainly of freshwater fish and a few oceanic models, all 3d,
no masks to deal with and just one texture to each model. You can also see
them in the Flagg008 world.

Copyright restrictions will apply to these models and you need to keep them
only to your world (by passwording zips) and not modify them.

Absolutely free Field and Stream magazine for 2 years

Sep 22, 2003, 9:43pm
Well....it was posted in our favorite newsgroup for fishing.
I signed up and didn't get any spam immediately afterwards and no one there
has posted a negative response yet.
The guys that post there are usually tournament fishermen also.
The site is not ours, but is reputable.
They don't ask for any financial info either.
It's for the first 5,000 people.
I'll watch and see if anything negative comes from it in that newsgroup.
I don't think there will be though.
Maybe ya'll might want to wait:)

Hey Linn....I never got a reply regarding my post in Worldbuilders regarding
the textures for the AWMegaOY world objects.
Are you representing that world or is Wiz?
Or do you have a contact name of someone I could ask in world perhaps?
Maybe my IE missed it or it was deleted?

Huggggs:)

The issue isn't seeing the textures, it's having to take the following steps
to use an object in a world;

1.Find the object in AWMegaOY
2.Click on the object.
3.Download the object.
4.Unzip the object.
5.Search the object for texture names.
6.Go to AWMegaOY and find the link to Tony's URL.
7.Go to Tony's URL.
8.Find the textures you need.
9.Download the texture from Tony's URL.
10.Put it in your object path.
11.Put your object in your object path.

What I'm suggesting is the following;
1.Find the object in AWMegaOY.
2.Click the object.
3. Download the object (with textures inserted).
4.Unzip the file.
5.Put the object in your models OP.
6.Put the textures in your textures OP.

That way a person need take only 6 steps as opposed to 11.

> Lin never responded to the Newsgroup in case she was flammed as usual,

Wiz, please don't try to pull my leg by saying that Linn didn't respond
because she didn't want to be flamed:)
If that were true she wouldn't have responded to Binary's post this morning
in the manner in which she did?:)

Thanks for the above information, but I personally don't see those steps as
the most easiest for your customers. Just my humble opinion:)
